The guys number 3 in the division and ranked mandatory in two orgs and should be in the WBC in all honesty.. don't call #1 fighting #3 a ****ing cherry pick cos you wana suck the ballbag of #2
Exactly this. Some of these fans are the worst.

The general opinion on British referees is unfavorable, at least among non-British fans.

Because Povetkin is a top 3/4 fighter at the moment and HAS to fight him ?

Why support Wilder fighting a current Fury who isnt a top 5 fighter yet again is a better question ,isnt it ?

I think they should get one from India.

Joshua didn't avoid Wilder though. Nor is Wilder the true champ either.

And no, when the WBA has given you extra time already and you don't have a signed contract, they are going to proceed with Povetkin getting his shot. So if it's a mandatory, it can't possibly be a cherry pick. A cherry pick is what Wilder has done his whole pathetic career.

Oh some of them stop fights a bit too early, but they're not looking to favour the British fighter. They'd jump in against a British fighter the same way they'd do with anyone else.

In many cases, you are right.
Sometimes it may seem more like favoritism because
it happens most often when a promoter brings-in some
undefeated club fighter from south America to be
cannon fodder for talented up-&-coming British prospects.
Strangely, British refs don't seem to get the call very often
when big title fights take place in the UK.
Often times they seem to assign some European ref with
                      very little title experience.
