That was the risk Wilder was willing to take. Hearn insisted the fight couldn't generate more than 50 in the US, meaning AJ was being offered a 100/0 split by Hearn's calculations.
Who gives a **** about Hearns calculations for a US fight. He is not the one who made the offer, he got his projections wrong, clearly. Wilder was not going to fight for free. That's the most absurd thing to ever say. Nobody believes that BS.
Finkel is the one who said this was a $100m fight in the US. And by putting the 50/50 split in, as well as a minimum $50m guarantee it either shows they were serious about their projection or they were lying, which would explain why they refused to send the contract and cancelled meetings in NY.
My point is simply that it would be asinine to guarantee AJ 70 million when 50 million is what he asked for and there was no guarantee 70 million in profit could even be generated. There has to be some limit to the risk you take.
I never said AJ should be guaranteed $70m. Stop twisting it and spreading your propoganda.

You guys take everything else Hearn says on IFL as gospel. Not my fault he can't keep his story straight on this one.

AJ made a request. Wilder accommodated the request. There's no way to know what Wilder would have made. We have no idea what the fight really would have made. Had it bombed, AJ would have gotten his 50 million, but we don't know what Wilder's guarantee would have been.
Here's how the Joshua fans think. Joshua vs Povetkin, Wilder vs Fury are scheduled in and their response is - What makes Wilder think he deserves more than 15 million? That's why I called them arrogant sheesh.

You are turning this into quite the party line, aren't you. Hearn on iFL has nothing to do with this. Please save your 'Do you believe Cotto only got 700k for his retirement fight' line for someone else though, yeah?

Finkel said $12.5m was 12.5%. AJ was, allegedly, guaranteed $50m.
Haymon was obviously confident of big numbers if this is true. So why would it bomb? If it did, Wilder don't get paid? Be serious. No world champion takes that risk.

I'm more of a Fury fan actually. I even successfully predicted him to easily outbox Wlad.
I believe he boxes circles around Joshua and Wilder tomorrow.
The fight with joshua has the potential to make about 80m. You think getting 15 is not okay??
This is what I don't get from these types of fans.
Why are you so concerned about how much Wilder should get?
Are you getting a percentage of his money?
Don't you think B-sides should not concerned themselves with how much the A-side will make and just focus on beating him?
I don't know about you, but that's what I think it should be.
Because I will definitely side with Wilder if he's the A-side and bash his opponent if he's starting to behave like Deontay have been.
And you think $15 million is not enough?
Maidana is more popular than this guy, yet he was guaranteed a mere $1 million in the first fight with Mayweather.
Did he say, "I should get more because it got the potential of becoming a massive box office hit?"
What makes Joshua think he's worth more than $50m? Presumably he doesn't think that's enough if he turned it down.
He might make big money, but he isn't making anywhere near $50m a fight..
This, and the money was confirmed by people at Showtime, so it's not like it's hearsay from Wilder camp Joshua/Hearn stopped talking about that because when you start calling owners of huge businesses like that liars, you better have an army of lawyers.
I guess Wilder fans are ok being morons. The Fury fight with Wilder has no date and no venue but Wilder supposedly has accepted it right? So why would it be an issue in the AJ fight? Especially when you know it will be in a soccer stadium or Wembley. And for any "champion" to turn down 15 million to go and fight for 2 or 3 million at best, he's an idiot. Especially when the smaller fight doesn't give you more titles. Wilder and his team have acted like idiots this entire time and you idiots have bought into it. The 50 million dollar email was as phony as a 3 dollar bill but you dummies want to sit here and argue it like it's gospel hahahahah. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Wilder has 1 good fight out of 40 and somehow he's king of the division???? 1 top ten guy out of 40 fights? And for you idiots arguing about his split, what are you? A bunch of ex wifes worrying about how much money your ex makes? NONE OF YOU ARE GETTING A DIME SO STOP TALKING ABOUT WILDER'S MONEY ALREADY.

Maidana wasn’t guaranteed a flat fee that’s for sure.
I don’t care about how much they make I’m just explaining the business side of it. And Wilder already accepted the 15m flat fee right? So no need to cry about it.
If that’s the case in your opinion then Pac should’ve also just easily accepted Floyd’s 40million flat fee right since he was the B-side? And not care that the fight made 500m??
