This quote captures what's really motivating most of the hate from "writers" for this fight. It's really about Loma his inflated reputation/legacy imo. (Great fighter but really being praised way too much at this stage.)

If Mikey wants to take the challenge, then he should be applauded for being true. Why should we care about his "pristine record"?

Where were these write-ups for Rigo v. Loma? Or JMM v. Floyd? Brook v. Golovkin? I don't remember this sort of campaigning at all.

I've noticed a certain crowd are the main ones writing these pieces and it seems pretty reasonable to assume what's really motivating their efforts. At the end of the day, we're not the fighters. Way too much protectionism going on in boxing today.

in the cases of rigo, jmm and brook. they were all applauded and given rightful props for taking on such challenges but i floyd and loma are not vicious punchers like spence so it was different sort of challenge. if mikey fights spence he most likely gets knocked out cold. he is much smaller and i would prefer him fighting loma. i read articles about brook having mad balls for taking on GGG.

If it was a regular guy at 147 I would understand, but Spence is as talented as any fighter in the entire sport. This will be as tall a hill to climb as they come. Damnit Mikey is a boss for going this route.

Styles make fights , Khan mite be a bad match up for Mikey. Now Garcia is tailored made.

Khan is fast.. but timing beats speed.. and mikey got hella good timing.

I still think this fight does not happen and that Mikey is full of it.

This is a guy who did not fight Gamboa, Linares, Lomachenko or Crawford. To think he is now going to just fight Spence out of the blue is just kinda ******.

He is not going to fight Spence.
