Garcia has no business getting in the ring with Spence. It's not brave, just plain dumb on his manager's part. Music to Arum's ears.

Styles make fights , Khan mite be a bad match up for Mikey. Now Garcia is tailored made.I would like to see Mikey vs some fighters like jeff horn.. or chris Algerie.. robert guerrero.... then we can move on to a tougher challenge in Lamont peterson.. or leonard bundu.. deigo Chavez.. then king khan.. if he gets thru that.. then he can face garcia/porter loser.. then title shot.. thurman, garcia/porter winner.. then crawford.. then Spence. Then he can retire. In that order.Comment

Here we go again, all these mofos saying Errol is so great, so awesome, so much more athletic than Mikey! Who the fk are these people saying this? More athletic? Where do they based themselves on sating this? Because Mikey doesn't do the PED's that Pacquiao did, or because he has a real fighters body with no definition of spectacular muscle heads? Mikey has not shown the best of him yet! People don't realize this but, everyone is in for a big surprise! Every idiot here gave Pacman the benefit of the doubt on all of his fights with bigger guys, but what the ****** media failed to tell all of the ignorant so call boxing fans, is that Manny made everyone else fight at a catch weight. WAR MIKEY!!!!!!Comment

I 100% agree with fighters being protected today. No shame in losing a fight, when your fighting the best. 16 divisions 4 major titles, winning championships in multiple weight classes isn't the accomplishment it used to be. If Mikey fights Spence, nothing but respect from me. That's a hell of a fight to go looking for."And if Garcia is going to lose his pristine record, I wish it wouldn’t come in a fight he didn’t have a realistic chance of winning. That would be a shame."
This quote captures what's really motivating most of the hate from "writers" for this fight. It's really about Loma his inflated reputation/legacy imo. (Great fighter but really being praised way too much at this stage.)
If Mikey wants to take the challenge, then he should be applauded for being true. Why should we care about his "pristine record"?
Where were these write-ups for Rigo v. Loma? Or JMM v. Floyd? Brook v. Golovkin? I don't remember this sort of campaigning at all.
I've noticed a certain crowd are the main ones writing these pieces and it seems pretty reasonable to assume what's really motivating their efforts. At the end of the day, we're not the fighters. Way too much protectionism going on in boxing today.Comment

Mickey gets nothing but love and respect from me. I totally believe that he is willing to face Spence. The whole Garcia camp is very highly respected and loved, very candid and honest. If this fight happens I will watch it with great enthusiasm...However Mickey you don’t need to do this! Skill wise they are like 52/48 Mickeys favor, but every other advantage goes to Errol in a Big ratio! I’m glad that Mickey dares to be great, but I don’t see this going well for him should it happen. And like the writer I would prefer that if Mickey takes an L, it’s to someone he really had a solid chance to beat!Last edited by Terrell1555; 08-02-2018, 09:32 AM.Comment

You should look up the history of fighters who are from Michigan (Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, etc.). Not to mention the guys who lived here. Maybe my judgment is skewed because of the rich history.
The guy is a fabulous fighter, but the hyperbole around him is a bit much.Comment
