  • Comments Thread For: Kovalev's Promoter Feels Alvarez is Better Foe Than Browne

This Saturday night from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, WBO light heavyweight champion, Sergey Kovalev, faces the undefeated Eleider Alvarez. Originally, it was 2012 U.S. Olympian, Marcus Browne, who had gotten this assignment to face 'the Krusher' on HBO.

He absolutely is. Browne would be good at beating up women in female boxing...

Krusher must surely be envious of Alvarez's hairdo.

'Sir' Marcus Browne is a young prime American, that's the type Sergay hates fighting : Cedric Agnew, Darnell Boone, Andre 'S.O.G' Ward have given Kovalev all he can handle ; at this later stage of the 'Krushers' career I don't think Kovalev hangs with Marcus Browne -- I cant be sure Sergay makes it past Alvarez to be honest.

He absolutely is, and it's not even close between Browne and Alvarez.

He has to be joking, making fun of the racist fans. The fact he put Cedric Agnew's name in there was what tipped me off. Kovalev absolutely beat down Agnew. If he isn't joking though, then he mistakenly admitted that the Kovalev that Ward "beat" was past his prime and slipping, however he put it, not that Ward even legitimately beat that version of Krusher, he didn't, but just saying, the key factor is that Ward waited until Kovalev was 33 years old, which is past an athlete's prime according to any study that has looked at the issue, not to mention the eye test which has clearly showed ALL the recent best offensive fighters, like Pacquiao and GGG, start to decline by 31 or 32 years of age. Kovalev was no different, especially with his drinking, smoking, and focus issues, which Ward and his team were well aware of before even agreeing to fight Kovalev, otherwise I'm sure he would have just retired a few years earlier instead since "I've already proven everything anyway" was Ward's motto ever since like his 25th pro fight (none against prime elite competition either).

The Krusher is back, Alvarez is a slick fighter with good speed and goes to the body!

Good fight to see where Kov is at!

I would like for the Krusher to remain undefeated and clear out the rest of the division
