Spence has some advantage though. He's american and he can build up a fanbase more quick. Golovkin had to battle more to get to be famous. But yeah, none of them is guilty of anything.

Brook wouldn't be the first WW to move to MW, just like Mikey won't be the first LW to move to WW! Now let me ask you a question: Did you have a problem with GGG turning down a MW title fight with Derevyanchenko, to fight a SWW who had not fought in 2 years?

He didn't even give him a CW, and this is the man that says he would fight "anyone from 154 to 168!" I would feel the same if Spence Jr. had criticized Loma for fighting Rigo, and now he's fighting Mikey!

        April 18, 2016:

"I understand this decision is maybe 20% Canelo's and 80% [his promoter], Golden Boy. It's business, but it's not respectful of boxing. Everyone says Canelo is a great champion, the idol of Mexico. The idol for what? For boxing? No. Or as a businessman? Right now, he looks like a businessman."

        April 24, 2016:

“I think he’s too small,” Golovkin said when asked by Fighthype.com if he would be willing to fight Brook at a catch-weight of 157lbs. “My focus is on 160 middleweight division. Kell Brook and evergbody are just trash talking. If he’s ready, of course, I’ll fight Canelo because he’s middleweight champion. My focus is on middleweight division and the belts in the middleweight division. I don’t feel I’m the next [Mike Tyson]. Too much. I’m Triple G, Gennady Golovkin.”

        July 10, 2016:

"I can not say anything bad about Brook. He is a great fighter. He has a good record and fights pretty well. I know there are many boxers who refused to fight me, so I'm a little surprised [that Brook accepted] and I'm really proud of this fight," Golovkin said.

"I do not know why Brook decided to climb up by two divisions, from 147 pounds to 160 pounds, but I'll be ready because he has earned my respect for trying to take all my belts."
When Conello open up his mouth about Fighting Floyd he and his team mentioned that they were willing to go down to 152 to make the fight happen. So it was mentioned and Floyd made sure 152 not 154 for the weight advantage. When Brook fought GGG he open his mouth (because Eubank lost his pen) and said he would come to 160 to fight GGG. He never once mentioned a catch wight to make the fight happen. Henceforth with Mikey he never mentioned a catch weight to fight Spence said he was willing to go to 147 to make that fight happen. Now Khan has a glass jaw everyone new sooner or later Conello was going to catch him, fact.

            March 25, 2016:

Hearn told BoxingScene that Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, told him that his fighter will likely not come down below the middleweight limit of 160-pounds.

"What happened was, when we got the news about Canelo [fighting Khan], Tom Loeffler sent me an email saying 'I can't believe Khan is fighting Canelo.' I went and spoke to Kell straight after, and he said 'you know what to do, get me the big fights.' And he said about six or seven names and Golovkin was one of them.," Hearn told BoxingScene.com.

"I just said to Tom Loeffler that Kell would fight Golovkin at 156, 157-pounds. And he said 'well, I don't know if we'll go below 160.' And I said 'well I'm telling you, I mean it, he will do it.' I think they have plans to stay at 160, but Kell will fight him."

I'm reading a lot of negatives about him fighting Mikey, and I dont know why. Mikey is a p4p boxer. This is a great opportunity to build up his fanbase against a reputable fighter. Duran moved up to face Leonard, Mosley to face De la hoya. I realize Mikey started at 126, but if the money's right, why not. It never bothered me GGG fought Brook, or Canelo fought Khan. In Canelos case he vacated to avoid GGG after the Khan fight, that's his right. That argument has been beaten to death on this forum, and is history to me. If fighters are willing to take the biggest challenges, and make good money doing, isn't that why they became a fighter. I have nothing but respect for any guy that takes tough fights. There's no shame in taking a loss, especially if you're facing the best guys available. Holyfield and Ali both took losses, no one can dispute either mans greatness. I could name many, many others, so let's enjoy it when big fights happen, not criticize.

Remember all the shyt and criticism GGG took when he took that fight. As a reminder, GGG was in deep negotiations to fight Eubank Jr... dude lost his pen so Kell Brook stepped up and the fight was offered at the Last minute.... we all know what happened after that....
The only thing that's common is the weight-size difference, they pursued Brook and he didnt have the profile of Garcia and he wasn't calling GGG out like Garcia has been doing with Spence.

Errol really has to fight him because of the way Garcia has continually called him out, if he were not to be willing to fight Mikey it would be perceived that he is ducking Garcia.

You guys are always the same you pick one common aspect and think everything is the same, look at all the angles not just a straight line to your point.

He wants to be pound-for-pound number one, so he’s taking on the challenge and I commend him for that. That’s what real fighters do. The only thing I’m gonna do is get the victory. It gets me pumped up. Somebody’s looking at me and he’s been calling me out. I mean, I’ve been waiting on that.
The biggest name, yea man keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile 154, the division you BEEN fighting at is chock full or names, but yea whatever bítch.

Yup, real fighters MOVE UP IN WEIGHT NOT DOWN and pick on smaller fighters --- unlike yourself.

Yea dog, you get so pumped to fight a guy 2-3 weight classes smaller than you.
