AJ's own words were, "they're saying it's a 100 million dollar fight" and that if that was true, he'd take 50. AJ & Hearn both went on record saying Finkel claimed it was 100 million in the US. Nobody on either side ever claimed it was 100 million in the UK. Asking for 50 million was specifically in response to Wilder's team claiming the fight was worth 100 million in the US, a claim AJ & Hearn disputed. So AJ, not believing it was worth 100 in the US, called Finkel's bluff by demanding 50.

$2.5m is only Wilder's guarantee. He'll likely see 14k+ tickets sold at Barclays, along with the other pieces of the pot that he'll likely get a piece of on the back end.
And, he'll be fighting in front of 1.5m people (count the Showtime live homes plus the viewers on the SHO app) instead of the maybe 15000 folks on DAZN.
Two strong numbers, back to back, and Wilder-Ortiz 2 in the spring can go to PPV.
This is a turtle raceComment

Frank Warren has just shitted all on Eddie Hearn's big announcement this week; To make a huge $8mil offer to Wilder for a Whyte Bout In NYC. It couldn't have been done more beautifully.
Speaking of a major screw job, the timing of this couldn't have been more perfect. Frank has pissed off a lot of Joshua fan boys and I couldn't have been more happy.
I guess Eddie Hearn can cancel his trip to the U.S now this week after all. Frank, I salute you my friend.
Continue the good work at Boxnation and filling up capacity crowds in Great Britain as I wish you all the best in promoting the Wilder vs Fury bout in December.Comment

No different than what Hearn is trying to do with Joshua, what's to stop Wilder and his camp from saying something like "thanks for the $8m offer, but we've got a loyalty to Showtime/CBS, and a working relationship that goes back 5 years that we want to keep building. Still, if Whyte is available, how about you send him over to fight on our Showtime card, here's $250k for the event, and Sky Sports gets the option to match for the UK rights"?
The IBF isn't going to let Joshua sit on their belt until April to make a voluntary defense, and it's odd that no one else is even mentioning that.
Depending on what it's competing against, Wilder-Whyte has the potential to be seen by at least 1.5m homes in the US (counting the folks tuning into the channel and live streaming on the SHO app). 2am and Dillian Whyte is likely a tough sell in the UK, but I couldn't imagine the UK number not doing near what Wilder-Ortiz did.
DAZN, come September for Joshua's fight (assuming it follows the track that ESPN+, WWE Network, UFC Fight pass, SHO app), might be on 20k devices, if that.Comment

Let’s see
Fight Hearns pawn with out anAJ guarantee on a streaming service no ones heard of
Or try to fight Fury technically who’s still the lineal Champ in a PPV that will probably generate more $ then what’s Hearns offering and winner becomes the #1 HW

Because Whyte is a better and more proven fighter than Miller is. Plus the money is huge for Whyte whereas it will be nowhere near to that against Miller.
Makes perfect sense. But I know you're scared for Wilder, which is why you're saying this. And you have good reason to, because Whyte can most definitely beat Wilder. Wilder would be the favourite, but Whyte is a live dog. Wilder struggles with bums so he will definitely struggle with this one at the very least.Comment

Because after likely talking all that **** to get the deal in the first place, delivering a matinee AJ fight in September, an October that has no interest, a talked about card for Los Angeles, and then "Big Baby" Miller headlining your first show in New York, with no real other stars waiting in the wings to be announced, DAZN won't be extending the deal after the two years are up, and may even look to cut bait early.Comment
