The old man had his chance and blew it. He was offered the fight in the spring of this year next after Pulev. Joshua & Hearn even said they were ready to sign the contract last year. All Ortiz had to do was wait 4 months and fight another bum in the meantime. Instead he chose to fight Wilder for 10 times less. We know why. He was very sure he would beat Wilder, which would have not only made him the first Cuban heavyweight champion but also given him much more leverage for the fight with Joshua.

But he came up short and the Wilder fight turned out to be a huge miscalculation. Now he's crying for another shot at AJ. That ship has sailed now. Too many people on the queue begging for a payday - Wilder, Fury, Miller, Pulev, Whyte. Sorry grandpa, your only chance of getting a title shot again is Wilder giving you a rematch, and that ain't happening either.
