to be fair it was on someone who just stood there with his chin in the air. People read too much into fighters knocking out bums. I saw some idiot saying ortiz was more impressive than whyte last night, guess thats boxing in 2018, you get more credit for knocking out some absolute scrub, than beating and dropping (for the the first time) a former world champ who you were underdog against.

Ortiz is 39. Look up world cup 2005 where he defo looks like a 26yo man. Some ppls faces age quick, and the damage from 350 amateur fights dont help. Ortiz has good defense yes but he had to take some damage in all those fights. manny does not look 40! He looks 50 now as another example

How does speculation on what certain fans would say make for good boxing conversation. Who gives a fig. Isnt it about the actual match ups.

Ortiz is a unicorn in the heavyweight division because he is a southpaw with boxing skills and power. Why is it that so called boxing fans make every excuse in the book to not have him match up against the other top 10 guys.

Seems like some of you guys are more concerned with coming on a comment thread and bragging than actually seeing good fights.

okay fair point, but i say that because it seems to be wilder fans that are saying joshua wouldnt go near ortiz. i also ask the question what has ortiz actually done to get the fight, hes not had a decent win in years and getting older and older. Theres other fighters with more momentum

Maybe proclaiming an art repeated lie makes people feel better to attempt to discredit a fighter? Hell I don’t know. What I do know is had Irtiz landed that same left on AJ it’d be lights out. AJ knows it as does used car salesman Hearn. Jim Gray was 100% spot on. No top HW will fight him because it’d ruin their paydays. That’s an easy statement to make when literally no one in the division will face you. I’d also ask based on what criteria exactly? Alphabet belt organizations that don’t rank based on talent but tv criteria? The same organizations like the WBA that has ranked BJ Flores the #5 HW? So knocked out better fighters based on what criteria again?
