Hopkins had a great end of his career and all but it don't eclipse Roy or Pacman.
Roy had the experience over Hopkins when they fought. Hopkins didn't become what he is until years later. After Roy, Mercado beat Hopkins but had to settle for a gift draw. Not forgetting that he dropped Hopkins as well. Something Jones couldn't. So please don't make out this win is great because it wasn't anything of the sort.

Tarver won the first fight against Jones but got ripped off.

Bob Fitzsimmons won THE tile at Middle, Lightheavy, and Heavyweight. Jones did nothing but pick up titles, he was never THE champ at the weight. So saying what Roy did has never been done before is nothing short of bull****. Jones' achievements will never come close to that of Bob's. Ever.

      1) Roy, 2) Hopkins, 3) Pacquiao.

-Roy was champion at 160, champion at 168, undisputed kingpin at 175, and even got a full heavyweight championship. Before stripping that 25lbs off of his frame, Roy was basically an undefeated fighter who great fighters couldn't even come close to beating.

-Hopkins lost his debut fight, lost to Roy Jones Jr, and then didn't lose another fight for 12 years as he became the first man to unify the middleweight championship since Hagler. Not only that, immediately after losing his middleweight title, Hopkins jumped up and beat the light heavyweight kingpin. The man was 49 years old and a legit world champion.

-Manny Pacquiao has had a great run from flyweight up to 150, but he's never had a clean win over Marquez, got embarrassed by Floyd, got beat by Marquez, and had been left for dead three times in the ring (let's leave the Bradley fights alone for the moment). You add the whispers about Pacquiao during his dominant run, and even that shine dims a bit.
Roy was never the man at Lightheavy. That was Darius. The titles Roy held were titles unfairly stripped from Darius. So don't get it twisted.

Well that's the narrative. I re-watched that fight, and scored it 7-5 RJJ. It was nowhere near the robbery it was made out to be.

Jones never picked up a title at Lighmiddle.

Just to re-iterate; Go watch Michaelchevski vs Hill and then immediately watch Jones vs. Hill, then come back and tell me who the man was. Okay......little boy?

Trinidad was WBA middleweight champ when he faced Hopkins. and DLH was already a middleweight with one fight at the division. I'm pretty sure that means Bhop faced legit middleweights. In comparison when GGG wanted to face Canelo and Cotto, none of those guys had ever weighed in at 160 for any fight.

                  Manny, Roy, Bhop.

Manny was impressive against HOF fighters or in fights he was expected to lose. Jones looked amazing but the competition was, meh. Bhop just put in a solid effort against whoever he fought and did real good against the HOFers he fought but nothing spectacular. Majority of his fights were sleep inducing and the Oscar fight has flags all around it. Oscar was even winning despite being the smaller guy...

I had Tarver by 3. He won the fight, man.

Darius never had the titles stripped unfairly? Yes he did.

Dirius was the true champ but Jones refused to travel and prove himself. Just like he refused to fight all the top guys out there.
