When would it have made sense? After Kov's second loss? I'm not the type of person who thinks fights have to marinade, but you also can't throw Kovalev into that fight coming off two debatable losses.

Now that Kov has a belt again, they can start talks after their upcoming fights. Not like Adonis is going to fight Bivol (or anyone in the top 15) and I can't even remember who is IBF at 175 off the top of my head.

That's all well and good.

But if THAT fight doesn't make sense yet...and it needs to marinate...then just don't come in here with the narrative that Bivol is the reason Andre Ward retired, like that other poster did.
