We're surely at the stage now that Bivol and Kovalev should have a deal to fight later this year, if they win their next fights, right?

This man is the reason Andre Ward retired.

Kovalev hasn't retired. Yet he and Bivol have STILL not fought.

You're reaching. What would make you say that? Oh yeah, I forgot. Nevermind. Continue with your narrative!

Actually, Ward retired to avoid facing IBF mandatory Beterbiev, but Ward didn't want any part of this bad boy either.

Ward did what the coward in him does in fights, games the system and takes the low road. Part of that scumbag culture he emulates.

Kovalev vs Bivol still needs to marinate and this will be a great passing of the torch fight.

Both guys have mutual respect for each other and promoted in the United States by the same group (Main Events). (Although Bivol is largely with World of Box, of Russia).

I do think we will see Bivol/Kovalev but in 2019... although it is tough to see who else would want to fight Bivol...

Hopefully Chickenson is ready to sell out his belt. Beterb?

Perhaps Bivol became champion a tad early.... but he is growing into it. Bivol/Kovy will be a terrific fight though, but would essentially be a stopper for either guy though... I mean look at Barrerra... he was questionable before.... but after getting owned by Bivol... can't really give him much credit.

When would it have made sense? After Kov's second loss? I'm not the type of person who thinks fights have to marinade, but you also can't throw Kovalev into that fight coming off two debatable losses.

Now that Kov has a belt again, they can start talks after their upcoming fights. Not like Adonis is going to fight Bivol (or anyone in the top 15) and I can't even remember who is IBF at 175 off the top of my head.

Artur Beterbiev. The one that sent Ward running for retirement.
