It would equally be a big risk for fury too. Both make the real big money against Joshua and for the winner it will make that payday bigger but for the loser they have probably just lost out on a huge income!

I can’t see either realistically risking themselves before the joshua fight

Fight makes sense for both Wilder and Fury

Wilder is the longest reigning champion , Firy the guy that beat the man when it mattered

The winner is the new #1 HW

AJ and Hearn can keep their straps and fight the Whyte rematches and Millers while claiming they want the fights

Is fury going to hire another 40 year old cruiserweight to take a dive for his next fight?

Or does he atleast plan to fight a top 100 ranked actual heavyweight?

One can say they what they will about Tyson Fury but the man doesn't lack for courage. He'll fight anybody at anytime. He's a throwback Jack Dempsey type fighter.

Let Team Wilder show Tyson Fury the $50Mil and he'll travel to Las Vegas and accept it in a heart beat. It's just the difference between the two fighters.

Moreover, he is a much more difficult and tougher style match up for Deontay Wilder than Anthony Joshua. For a big man he knows how to move around the ring and is very elusive.

He won't stand still for a good shot. Therefore, Wilder would have trouble timing him. He'll have his hands full trying to catch him.

I've said it, this fight makes sense for both. Fury clearly changed target after the 50 million thing. Wilder would gadly take his name for the resume. It will take some 2 fights for Fury to be able to make it a fight. He would be ready for april. I can see them putting the fight on the same day as Joshua's fight

They're the only two champions with a common goal anyway. Joshua is focused on that billion and he's not even ready to challenge Wilder yet.

So I could see a three fight deal, two tune ups for Fury and two solid fights for Wilder, starting in November 2018 and gravitating towards a December 2019 Showtime PPV unification, $30 million guaranteed to Fury against 50%, for the lineal and WBC belt...

Then the winner negotiates with Joshua in early 2020, provided Joshua still has the belts, is ready to unify and is ready to negotiate in good faith.

Joshua fans won't care: they will support any Joshua fight with any fighter, win or lose...

But real boxing fans would have a real slew of fights with real stakes for the next 18 months, none of this "risk-free" crap...

It was awesome to hear him bash Joshua Anthony like that!

Can’t afford to wait two more fights. He’s too volatile and really all he needs is three training camps.

If Wilder is looking to fight him and take advantage of him being out of the ring then he is badly underestimating how good Fury can be.
Of course it is a huge risk to Wilder. Fury at his best is likely the favorite over everyone. But for Wilder this is a big money fight and it is yet to be determined if Fury will ever get back to form. In reality, Wilder's team will just be using Fury to gain more negotiation pull vs Joshua.
