Yeah, it would be pretty easy. Still, I'd watch it.

Joshua has 3 belts he has to defend, unfortunately Ortiz isn't ranked with any of the relevant bodies thanks to his testing positive for peds. Only WBC have him and that's the belt AJ doesn't have. He doesn't bring any money with him or significant audience and he's still a risky proposition whatever his age / blood pressure issues as the wilder fight established. So sadly we won't see that fight.

True. Still, it'd be a fun fight, no? I'd like to see King Kong fall down again.

Povetkin has accomplished more but I still don't see him as the better fighter. He also had a much easier route than Ortiz who didn't get the opportunities amateur and pro Povetkin did.

If Ortiz fought Povetkins opponents I think he'd of achieved more. He's not losing 120-104 and not landing a glove on Wlad. He's certainly not getting his ass kicked by Huck and going tooth and nail with a past prime Chagaev.

The point is, domestic level he lost to anyone notable, international level, he never beat anyone notable.

Comparing his amateur career to povetkins is totally ridiculous.

Pedvetkin is a 1 dimensional brawler that's it, Ortiz is a gifted boxer puncher that has dominated all comers.

Jennings, Fury, Joshua all proved they were far more skilled than Pedvetkin whom got absolutely dominated by Klitschko.

Boxingscene just goes full ****** when they want to push an agenda.

Povetkin gets annihilated by Wlad=Great fighter
Jennings gives Wlad his toughest fight since 2007=He's a nobody

Ortiz could have fought Joshua but he went with the easier Wilder to try and grab a belt for a 500,000 payday meanwhile wasting time in legal battles bc hes dumb and cant inform his OWN team anout what meds hes on ......

Meanwhile could have just agreed to a mandatory after Pulev / Takam to face Joshua and Hearn was willing to draw him a contract to not fight Wilder but a U.K fighter to further grow his profile . lol

Ortiz left on his own as Whyte called him out 2 fights in ., so isnt Whyte the actual boogeyman since he also wasnt ready for a July fight with Whyte ?
Well it's true. Ortiz did sign with Matchroom just prior to the Klitschko/Joshua fight being signed and voluntarily left after only two fights, in the following year of 2017.

His leaving Matchroom Boxing was a self-fulfilling prophecy though. He knew that AJ wasn't going to fight him once he won that WBA title from Klitschko. That's why he signed with Al Haymon for some muscle and reinforcement.

Team Ortiz knew had Joshua won the titles they were going to have to pressure him into getting their title defense by suing in court. So Wilder paid step aside money to his mandatory contender in order to challenge him.

Then AJ chose to fight Takam instead of Ortiz which was a duck in my opinion because he chose the path to least resistance; Which is neither now nor there because shortly afterwards, Ortiz had allegedly popped for juicing anyways and was suspended by both the WBC and WBA and the fight with Wilder was called off; Forcing Wilder to defend his WBC title against his mandatory challenger.

However, subsequently the WBC lifted their suspension of Ortiz but the WBA did not and then the Wilder vs Ortiz fight was back on again.
