Ortiz is not a 'solid amateur' bro, not to nitpick or anything but he never did anything worth mentioning as an AM, he lost 5 times to Solis FFS. Povetkin is an olympic gold medalist with many more super HW world and European gold''s.....they are not remotely comparable..

At the moment povetkin, his resume is far stronger. Ortiz hasn’t actually beaten anyone of any value yet.

Assuming Joshua does best povetkin though I would quite like to see this as a matchup!

A 343-19 Amateur record with a 95% winning percentage is an awesome achievement Bro; No matter how one tries to slice and dice it. It proves that the man possesses both the skills, fundamentals and pedigree to fight.

Also, you don't win 95% percent of your matches if you are a bad amateur either. The lack of notable opponents on his professional resume is due to promoters and fighters avoiding and ducking him.

Let's take the top ten contenders currently ranked by all four major sanctioning bodies for example and I'll bet you he'll defeat every last one of them if they had the balls to fight him.

You saw what Dillian Whyte's reaction was when the WBC mandated him to fight him. He ran to another sanctioning body in order to avoid him

You can talk about win percentages till the cows come home, he never beat anyone on the world level as an AM, and he never beat anyone on the world level as a Pro.

How could he if the other fighters are too afraid of fighting him? If that is always going to be the case, then yes he'll never beat anyone on the world level as a pro.

However, he once was promoted by Matchroom Boxing. However, the moment AJ became a world champion they dropped him from their stable. He needs more opportunities to prove himself and so far Deontay Wilder was the only champion that stood up to the plate and gave him his huge break.

I have a proposition, if AJ doesn't get Wilder in April of 2019, then let him keep that date available for Luis Ortiz to challenge him for his belts. I dare him and Matchroom Boxing to do that because they are too damn afraid and have no heart.

Why not Anthony Joshua have at it? After all, Luis Ortiz is 48 years old and on high blood pressure medicines. It should be an easy victory for him I think.

                      This is a lie .

Matchroom signed Ortiz the same month or so Joshua agreed to fight Klitchko ,there was an agreement in place already and then he had his mandatory fight with Takam . .

Ortiz could have fought Joshua but he went with the easier Wilder to try and grab a belt for a 500,000 payday meanwhile wasting time in legal battles bc hes dumb and cant inform his OWN team anout what meds hes on ......

Meanwhile could have just agreed to a mandatory after Pulev / Takam to face Joshua and Hearn was willing to draw him a contract to not fight Wilder but a U.K fighter to further grow his profile . lol

Ortiz left on his own as Whyte called him out 2 fights in ., so isnt Whyte the actual boogeyman since he also wasnt ready for a July fight with Whyte ?
