If they were both in shape I would say Ortiz but Ortiz barely got cleared to fight Wilder for having high blood pressure. If he had slightly better stamina he would of stopped Wilder
I would say Ortiz, being the bigger guy with better over-all skills. It is close, but add to that Ortiz being a southpaw, it adds something that is more dangerous. I think that is why Hearn kept him away from Joshua.

lol at Ortiz being more skilled than the olympic gold medallist Povetkin.
Even Duhaupas and Washington looked skilled versus Wilder.
Definitely Ortiz. With both off the juice, it is Ortiz. With both on the juice? Then Povetkin, who looked like a flat out killer for a while. Now he just looks good, that's it.
I'll go with Ortiz, but it's not that crazy of a question. Both are solid amateurs, both are up there in age, and both have questionable PED history and nobody knows how good they are when off PEDs.
Povetkin = Olympic gold medalist + world amateur gold medalist + superior resume than Ortiz in the pros for the last 10 years.
Whilst Ortiz's best accomplishment in his amateur + pro boxing career = arguably just beating Bryant Jennings. What else has he done that is as impressive or more impressive than Povetkin's best accomplishments?
In terms of actual abilities, Povetkin also throws more punches, has better punch variation and technique. Whilst Ortiz is a predictable one two fight spamming mostly the lefts. Very similar to his countryman Yunier Dorticos.
Trust me, Povetkin will beat Ortiz in a similar way to how Gassiev beat Dorticos, if that fight ever takes place. I hope it does once though!
