New Sheriff In Town: Jaron Ennis

Wow, what a supreme talent this man is. I remember watching him in the Olympic pre-trials and being frustrated that he wasn't quite fighting up to his talent level. But seems like that is changing. Love how busy his team is keeping him as he already has 21 fights in basically two years.

The WW division already has two P4P talents in Spence and Crawford, and this guy will be the third sooner than later. This is why Thurman having these injuries and setbacks is a killer as his career has come to a halt, two killers are biting at the chomp to get the throne, and another killer is waiting in the wings in Ennis. His timing and reflexes are amazing, and seems like he has very good pop I know Pretty Boy Kelly gets a lot of hype, but this guy is even a better prospect. In fact, I would be confident in picking Ennis to beat Kelly in a few more fights. He probably can already, but for sure in six-eight months.

I know I have talked a lot about Hearn and DAZN, but this is the type of guy he needs to throw big money at. Get guys like Haney/Ennis and build them up to superstars.

I dig how Haney/Ennis aren't tied to big promotional companies and are just doing their thang staying busy fighting whenever they can. Haney is 19 years old with 19 fights, and Ennis already has 21 himself. Eventually they will have to sign with someone, but early on this is probably the best route to take.

He sure is talented but his showboating is premature.

I hope somebody shatters his face.

That's just his style, but fair that it rubs people like you the wrong way. It definitely isn't for everyone, but man does he have mean intentions when he hurts you. With that type of speed, reflexes and pop, it is going to be extremely difficult to beat him. Only question is how is his chin?

His show boating gave flashbacks of Nate Campbell when he got his head torn off by Peden while acting a fool.

Alvarez could have caught him clean when dude was looking towards the crowd yet he did nothing. That’s when i knew alvarez was a total can.

In another year or so, Spence and Crawford will have to take this guy seriously. He looks to have the goods. I really like what I see so far.

Don't get too exited about this kid, Alvarez is the first guy with a pulse he's been in the ring with.
Look at his record, half his opponents had losing records, and most of them had double digit loses. Then look at Alvarez record, he built up his undefeated record fighting even worse competition.

New sheriff? ....... yea I don't think so.
He can box, but the showboating really is not warranted at this time, unless he wants to show the world what kind of low level competition he's taking on.

Showboating is not warranted? What does that even mean? That's just his style. Could it hurt him vs someone elite? Maybe, or he will be more disciplined against better opponents.

Who said he has faced great opponents? He just has the "it" factor. Sometimes you see a supreme talent and know he is the goods. So yeah, I absolutely think he is the real deal…. As long as that chin isn't suspect. Hopefully he takes on a decent puncher soon. I want to see a Mexican pressure fighter soon as well.

But good luck dealing with him.

Boxrec ranks him 75th in the world. The guy he just KOed is ranked 86th in the world by boxrec and that is the highest ranked guy he has ever beaten. I doubt Spence or Crawford are worried about the new sheriff.

Doubt they are worried now? Sure, but in a year? They better keep a close eye on him.

There's a lot of things I liked about him. He landed a punch on Alvarez as he was ducking his head down that tells me he's seeing things on another level offensively.

I didn't like showboating. If your opponent is so bad you can dominate him and clown at the same time, you need to be fighting way better competition.

I also saw him get hit with a couple of shots clean enough to tell me he wasn't expecting it at all. It's one thing to get hit. It's another to get hit with a shot you had no idea was coming. Maybe it was the competition but it made me wonder how ready he is.
