Russia isn’t known for robberies as much as I’m not even a fan of Russian politics or not, the shadiest promoters I can think of world wide would be Golden Boy and the British cards held by Hearn and Warren, those officials seem the most easily corruptible. I’ve heard people moan about Haymon boxers cards but their is just no basis whatsoever, that guy doesn’t need to pay anyone off he just gets his guys another title shot, if anything if actually say my favourite cards are Haymon backed guys as I feel their is no interfence at all.Comment

This fight is political. Those others were unimportant. For Usyk to win he should better win at least 8-9 rounds or the best case to stop Gassiev late. He can stop Gassiev the same way Loma does with his opponents by overwhelming and confusing them. Plus Gassiev is way more unexperienced than Usyk.Its actually a miracle that he is a unified World Champ with just 24 years of age and just 25 amateur fights. Usyk has nearly 400 amateur fights. Big experience. Usyk will use his amateur pedigree.Comment

Usyk also clearly said at the presser today that you need a very good amateur basis to compete at this elite level.Just to throw hooks wildly (like Gassiev does) won't be enough to defeat Usyk because he will just move away with his footwork.Previous opponents of Gassiev were easy to catch because they stood infront of him. it won't be the case with Usyk who is an excellent mover. Gassiev might land some big punches here and there but they won't have the needed effect. I expect Usyk to fight the same way as against Glowacki.Comment

Russia just hosted a World Cup to worldwide applause and no hooliganism like roundly reported and expected by western media, again completely unfounded criticisms levelled which really only highlight media’s as attempting to portray Russia in bad light. It really puts Russia in a bad light should their be an injustice, what do they profit or gain from it putting the country in proven bad light ?
Their is a lot of money in the pockets of Russian oligarchs, they’ll only get their man another title shot down the line, it is what it is deal with it don’t misconstrue it for no other purpose than what the media’s themselves would have you think of Russia.

It's good to see all the preemptive cries of robbery.
Seriously, even if Gassiev knocked Usyk out of the ring and sent him flying into the parking lot there would still be people who would claim that it was due to the corrupt judges.
As boxers, I like both fighters, but I like Gassiev (or at least his persona) far more. Respectful and humble, feet firmly on the ground. As his career progresses, Usyk, to me, comes across more and more as a c*cky ****** who considers himself some sort of a boxing legend. Maybe he will prove it some day, but he still has a lot of milk to drink until then.Comment
