Comments Thread For: Promoter: I Really Believed Munguai Would Knock Golovkin Out

This Saturday night from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Jaime Munguia makes the first defense of his WBO junior middleweight title he won back on May 12th by bludgeoning Sadam Ali over four rounds. Munguia faces mandatory challenger Liam Smith as the main event on HBO.

Ok, the kid looks promising but let's not get ahead of ourselves. He ko'd sadaam Ali...and so did Jesse vargas.

I'm not saying he but say if Smith pulls the upset, would everybody's opinion about Munguia change?

He's a big and promising fighter, but it would be a shame to feed him to Golovkin at 21 years old and potentially screw up the rest of his career. He's still very young, he'll have plenty of time to get a big fight when he's in his prime and ready for it. Hell, he may even get Canelo in 2-3 years.

Agreed with everything you just said. Unfortunately, by the time Munguia gets the shot, I feel that GGG will already have retired and we will never know what could have been. Canelo and Munguia. Forget about it. Oscar is too protective of his PPV star

Vanes rocked GGG with a jab so Munguia knocking out GGG was definitely possible.

People using GGG to promote fights a couple of years ago was out of question. Oh how the time changes. Always gotta name drop a big fighter to sell your own fight I suppose. The cycle of boxing.
