Who else thinks Joe Mesi will never be the same?

Man he looked awful last night. Was getting tagged frequently by a man that had the word GREEN written all over him. He looked very bad physically and just downright green himself. He really has to start from scratch and I can't see him being in the ring with a top heavyweight contender anytime soon or he's gonna get his head taken off. Anyone else think he should just retire before he gets seriously hurt? I know retirement is outta the question in his mind though his father and him are only seeing $$$ and that's gonna get Joe killed in the long run.

Last night he was a shadow of his former self. He looked out of shape, flabby, and slow. I know he wasn't allowed to train but he could have stayed in shape. To top it off he seemed to forget how to protect himself. Not that he was good at that before but now he's worse. He should have killed that guy.

I was a moderate fan and I don't think he should be boxing anymore. The guy could get killed. What kind of Father puts his son in harms way?

He has to get back down to 227 first. But he will never be the same. Look at Ali and Tyson after there layoffs. They where still able to recapture there titles, but they where never the same.

That would be truly amazing if Mesi captured a title. What a story that would be.

It's too bad because Mesi was a pretty good fighter beforehand, but no he wont be the same. He blasted out Williamson with the quickness, something Wlad couldn't do for some reason.

I would have loved to see a the Mesi who beat Izon and such in with todays Calvin Brock. Both guys have similar skillsets, but I think Brock is a plain better outside of his straight right hand.

Hopefully Joe takeser easy and doesn't sustain further injury.

The 3-7 Montrealian actually caught him flush 4-5 times in the fight, Mesi is too slow to contend now...

Hate to say it, but I've always thought Mesi was pretty poor. He should have stayed retired, that way the talk of "what might have been" could have escalated.

He was lucky to get the decision against Monte Barrett (that's Monte Barrett) and suffered what were almost career-ending injuries against a blown-up Cruiserweight.

He was never going to win a title, still isn't, and got most of his rep on his looks and complexion.

The fact that Jirov was a cruiserweight does not matter. He still hit pretty hard, and when you hit someone on the back of the head it's very easy to damage them.

I think Joe just needs more time. I doubt he will ever be as good as he was (fringe top 10 material) but we need more time to see.
