It's a mirage. He was fighting an opponent who is far more shot at 35. Matthysse is a small welterweight and he even looked terrible in beating that Thai in January. No different than Khan's 1 minute win.

Mathysse is still Mathysse. He's been the elite quality guy representing the best 140 has to offer for years. Amazing KO streak. But I agree he looked bad all night long. He hasn't been their mentally since Garcia. He doesn't have that competitive furvor necessary to weather the offensive storm of the elite talent at welterweight. Pac fought differently than I've seen him fight in a while. He was still setting up his shots from the outside mostly but he was a lot less evasive. Reminded me of Duran. Almost everybody was writing off Pacquiao even pinoys. Hopkins said Matthyse would put Pac to sleep. Mosley said Matthyse will end Pac's career. Winky Wright said Pac will get knocked out. Heck everybody was calling for his retirement.

He's like George Foreman. He may be back, but not as terrifying as he used to be, but can potentially still duke it out with the elite guys.

What’s that got to do with Pacquiao’s win? Can Pacquiao not enjoy a win without you referencing Floyd. When was the last time you scored a knockout? Not since 2009. We should all be rejoicing today you have endured getting knocked out by Marquez, beat by Floyd, expunged as A PPV star , then being embarrassed by a School teacher. Let’s Cherish this win and not worry about Mayweather. A win is a win. Let’s target Khan next ,a winnable fight or Broner. Let’s stay well away from Crawford or Spence unless we want to get stepped on. These knockout nights are few far between
