The first Hopkins fight was not even in close in my opinion. The second fight was a closer fight. I also think Winky did better against Taylor, then Hopkins did in his 2 fights with Taylor.Originally posted by oldgringomy only qualm with taylor is that he has been incapable with winning these fights decisively. sure it's nice that he has hung right in there with two great older fighters, but i personally don't think he looked impressive at all until the wright fight. even with that fight i thought it was a fight which he lost. i also thought that he did nothing to take hopkins title away from him...much like some would say wright didn't do enough in the 12th to take taylors title from him.
i think jermain is a classy guy and is good for the sport, but i just cannot get excited over him until he finally gives a stout & dominating performance. my two cents.Comment

looking outside of taylors career, no bad decisions exist in the sport of boxing is what you're saying? we should just give every fighter full credit for a win even if it is controversial?
i think you're a bit off base with that remark.Comment

there is no way he won that fight on saturday. i cant believe people are saying he did. A draw at best for him and i thought a draw was a great decision. I would listen to an argument of winky wright winning, but i wouldnt listen to an argument about how taylor won it. i just dont see it...
Of coarse, IF SOMEONE WOULD UPLOAD THE GODDAMN FIGHT (viewable on windows media player of coarse), i could rewatch and rescore the fight...Comment

I think you mean a loss.... However, these wins are hardly that impressive. I've said it time and time again, yes, he's facing 2 opponents who are hard to look good against but a decisive win sure would be nice. It's one thing if you win a close fight.... but the public doesn't always think he's even won these.Originally posted by Rosewood_htowna win is a win.....a lost is a lost......taylor is winning......Comment

This doesn't make any sense, I can easily see the fight go to either man. So you probably think Winky won then.Originally posted by kfootball15there is no way he won that fight on saturday. i cant believe people are saying he did. Hey everyone had their stance on the fights. With the first fight (I scored it a draw), I couldn't find a single round leading up until the point where Hopkins started going off where Taylor won a round by doing anything more than throwing and missing (outside of a couple of landed jabs/glancing powershots). Hopkins won two of the first 8 rounds in my opinion and swept the final rounds out.
It's just a matter of "did Taylor do enough to take the old mans belts"...and in my eyes he didn't as he was outlanded and was fading bad down the stretch. Usually judges favor the powerpuncher who finishes strong, but that wasn't the case in that one.
Both men gave good accounts of themselves in the Wright/Taylor bout. I don't think theres a single one of us who knew the fight would be that action packed.Comment

Your very well known Taylor hater here. First of all your wrong about the public, Taylor won the poll against Hopkins.Originally posted by Dirt E GomezI think you mean a loss.... I'm a Taylor hater? Find a single post where I've hated on Taylor, other than me insulting his big ass grin because I think it makes him look like a dufus. As I said, when all else fails, resort to lying about somebody as usual.Originally posted by Gunstar1Your very well known Taylor hater here. You don't have to make fun of a boxer to be a hater.Originally posted by Dirt E GomezI'm a Taylor hater?
