I've never thought Pacquiao was one of the greatest ever but he has one of the greatest set of achievements ever. I always saw a lot of flaws whenever I watched Pacquiao fight. He was able to fix quite a few of them with the help of Roach. He also made of for the flaws with a ridiculous workrate, stamina, and power. I give him a lot of respect for what he was able to accomplish in the sport.

Great article, I hope new boxing fans will read it. What Manny accomplished is just insane, he is definitely one of the greatest ever, in just about all of the weight classes he fought in pretty much, which is saying a lot.

-- Also definitely ranked way higher than Floyd.

19 percent of his total punches (81 of 429) and 27 percent of his power shots (63-236). His jab never found a home, landing just 9 percent of the time (18-193).

Mayweather was just as active, but much more accurate. He landed 34 percent of his total punches (148-435) and an impressive 25 percent of his jabs (67-267). His power shots were less frequent, but more effective, landing at 48 percent effectiveness (81-168).
this proves how great of a fighter TBE was

              bullshht kid

Cotto was in a much better position when he fought Mayweather

when he fought Pac, Cotto was at the lowest point in his career

had just taken a beating from Margarito, went life and death with Clottey, Pac drained him on the scales, and Cotto did not have a trainer

at 154 Cotto was in a much better place, he was happier/healthier and he actually had a corner worth a damn

              that is rubbish

I hate it when casuals run around telling stories

Mayweather fought a better calibre of opponents, and he fought them when they were hot..... Pac either fought them when they were clearly on the slide, weight-drained them.,.... or both

btw, Mayweather did not lose 7 times, and get knocked KTFO multiple times

              and YEP, that counts lol

Always proved that Mayweather should always be rank higher than Pacquiao. He is just an average boxer without his PEDS.

PAC was vulnerable at times? And against jmm? Floyd cheated scales so how does anyone know if Floyd wasn't vulnerable against jmm? ? Floyd was vulnerable against Castillo, maidena, PAC. He didn't look invincible. PAC. Looked invincible at times too. Why do you count when Floyd looked good and not PAC? Didnt PAC look invincible against Hatton, margarita, cotto, Barrera, Morales etc etc
PAC was best of era.True story

                    sorry but that is rubbish

                    fanboy fluffery

we are discussing greatness in the TRUE boxing sense of the word..... so, there is only one valid criteria

WHO you beat, with consideration given to when/how

                    that is ALL that counts

counting ESPY's/divisions/FOTD.....is utter wank and fluffery

FACT: if it did not exist back in Willie Pep's day, it is irrelevant now..... so fk espy's, interim divisions, PPV sales, etc..... none of that shht matters..... btw, Pep is greater than Pac and he only ever fought in one division

here is where the writer - and you - went wrong

none of that shht matters..... all that shht in the writers list, can be used to separate/further define greatness (between fighters who have already been proven great based on the strength of their wins) ..... but it cannot be used to qualify greatness

Pac is great, but he does not have the substance to be compared with Mayweather

This piece is like something written about how great Barry Bonds was, without ever mentioning the su****ions against him. After all, both Pac and Barry never failed any tests. Both were great, then suddenly became much better. Both had heads that grew in size during their 30's.
Pac accomplished something that haters considered impossible to attain unless you're into performance-enhancing drugs. Pac was phenomenal beating guys bigger than him and he beats them in brutal fashion. He always gives his all and made sure he puts the paying fans first before his own safety.

IMHO, Pac is clean unless he got caught that I don't know of.
