they've ays excelled in the smaller weight classes, now more and more are moving up in weight and making a splash... they've always been in the bigger weights, just more and more are being noticed at the upper levels of those divisions.
Many years ago There were less Mexicans in the United States so with more Mexicans that cross into the United states that gave them more of an opportunity to box or do other things. So with more Mexican kids boxing in the United States you will have larger Kids boxing as well. Also in Mexico you have some bigger fighters as well because many whom would have been wrestling are into boxing and what helps them more is that Blacks who were boxing in the 70's to 90's were far better than Blacks fighting today so with less competition Mexicans of larger size will do better today than they would have done in the 70's to 90's . For example does anyone here think Canelo or GGG would beat Julian Jackson of Gerald Mc Clellem ? No I rest my point
