Nobody gets 50/50 splits with Joshua or Canelo. Not because they're anything super special, but because they have delusionally patriotic fan bases who ignore ducking and are willing to pay to see them vs inferior competition.

Canelo is 27 years old, has already fought Mosley, Floyd, Trout (when they said he wouldnt), Lara (when they said he wouldnt) Kirkland (when they said he wa a beast...lmao), Cotto, and GGG. He’s also Mexican which helps seeing as that’s a massive market. Name a current 27 year old who’s earned the right for the fans to want to watch more than canelo right now.

Joshua is a gold medalist who won the hw championship within 4 years of doing it while at the time maintaining a 100% KO ratio and becoming one of the fastst men to win a hw title...AND he’s fighting in his country which is historically a great boxing culture? Then goes on to fight a legendary (old, but that doesnt matter) HW in Wlad who is a massive european draw and proceeds to have an amazing/classic fight with the man and continues to do well.

Tyson earned it. Oscar earned it. Floyd earned it. Pacquiao earned it. Canelo earned it and now Joshua has.

Canelo just gave Golovkin almost 50/50, and I would say Canelo/ AJ are on similar PPV levels, while Wilder/Golovkin are on similar PPV levels.

Mfers here can spew all the BS about "nobody knows Wilder", but that just isn't true. And a fight vs Wilder gets Joshua more money than he would get ANYWHERE ELSE. POINT BLANK.

Am I saying this is a 50/50 split fight? No. But 15 mil flat wilder is getting screwed, and Hearn is either doing it because he is a good promoter that sees weakness in team Wilder where they would accept the crappy deal, or because he isn't really interested in Joshua fighting Deontay. I tend to go with disinterest since he was offered 50 million and found a way to turn it down after he admitted himself that the funds were verified and legit. But thats just me using common sense. He turned down 50 mil plus PPV upside folks. That means the fight is worth ATLEAST 50 million dollars in Joshua's pocket alone in Hearn's estimation, otherwise he would not have turned it down. So they are being greedy with only offering a flat fee, or scared.

As fans shouldn't we be arguing for promoters to make offers that get the fights made instead of figuring out angles to defend universally bad and unprecedented offers. I mean not one single promoter or fighter had supported the flat fee offer. That's telling.
