For his last fight with Lipinets:

Multiple industry insiders have informed BoxingScene.com that his total compensation package will be roughly $3.5 million, a concerted effort to keep Garcia affiliated with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions for at least one more fight.

He might not be smarter than Arum, but he is making more money than when he was with TR.

Mikey doesn't make excuses. Whoever pays the most. However, he made $3.5 million for his last fight. That is more than Loma has ever made.

      Who is making excuses?

Lomachenko-Garcia makes more sense for 2019, says Arum, who wants his prized fighter to pursue a meeting with Pacquiao late this year after also taking an August bout.

Huh, how bout that? Loma's daddy Bob is already making excuses to avoid Mikey.

Mikey fights for whoever pays the most. If espn is going to pay the most, then Mikey would gladly accept. But since Loma is with TR, he has to follow orders. He won't fight on any network other than espn. So, that is always an excuse. Oh, well, I won't fight on a different network, not even for a million dollars more. Or just have Daddy come out and say no.

Why the heck should any fighter have loyalty to any promoter???? Do you believe promoters are loyal to fighters? Promoters are in it to make money, not friends. Mikey is in it to make money, not friends.
Why are you trying to explain to me that Haymon is not a promoter? Why are you bringing up TR/GBP lawsuits to me? What made you think I was unaware of either?

I said what I said. He may technically not have a contract with Haymon, but is pretty much a Haymon/PBC/SHO fighter. I've never heard him say or anyone report he has a deal with Haymon. But we all know the deal here…..

When the article is about Mikey not signing with a promoter, and that is the comment, it definitely insinuates that Haymon is a promoter.

Otherwise, Mikey does have a fight-by-fight contract with Haymon. And rather he has a contract with Haymon or not, as absolutely nothing to do with Mikey being signed to a promoter.

So if you know Haymon isn't a promoter, why are commenting about Haymon? What does Haymon have to do with anyone signing with a promoter???

My bad, I guess, I just figured since the entire article is about signing with a promoter, and your entire comment was about Haymon, that you were confused. Good deal, my man.

When people talk about stables, they say Top Rank, GBP, Matchroom, Haymon etc. Haymon though he is not a promoter still basically dictates who the fighter fights like a promoter. Even that article said he was paid 3.5 million so he could stay with the PBC for at least one more fight. That right there shows he doesn't have a contract with Haymon, unlike say a Spence or Wilder. Now, even those guys could leave to a Hearn if they wanted to, but they show a level of loyalty a guy like Mikey wouldn't.

being your own boss and brand is huge, it's whats needed to really have control and maximize your profits. not only that, it's a way to make decisions solely based on your own needs.

as long as he gets a solid team around him, he can break the mould of needing a promoter, because the reality is, you don't need a promoter, you just need good motivated, talented, and motivated people on your team.

if you're undeniable, they can't keep you out of the game without exposing their misdeeds. only guys without that kind of team and product, need a promoter.

with the day of modern technology and social media, there really isn't that much of a need, again, as long as you have a good team around you... Go Mikey Go!
