its sad that posters who are supposed to be boxing fans who have maybe $400 to their names can act as if multi millionaires are broke. what is this world coming to?

If you mean that the Povetkin fight will still fill a stadium, then you're probably right, but that says more about what British fans are willing to accept than it does about the quality of the opponent. Joshua only has to fight the level opponent that his fans demand, and as long as they're happy to pack stadiums to see him fight Takam & Povetkin, he has no reason to fight Wilder. The Wilder fight is not happening because most British fight fans are indiscriminate.
You're talking as if Wilder has a better cv than Povetkin. He doesn't. Povetkin's cv is close to being better than Vitali Klitschko. Wilder has a good win over Ortiz and that's about it. I'm not even a Wilder hater, and certainly not a Joshua fanboy. That's just the reality.

It shouldn't be such a conundrum look at their cv's or follow their careers. If you didn't bother doing that before there's a handy site called Boxrec that's good for that.

It's nice to look at the glass as half-full, but Joshua vs Povetkin is the fight nobody wanted (except Russian fans and Joshua's promoter).
The reality is that Povetkin was a top contender almost a decade ago. He was completely dominated by Klitschko 5-years ago, and has since been involved in numerous doping controversies. He got the win, but looked less than great in his last fight. That's not to say Povetkin has no chance to win, but it's not the fight that fans really wanted.
