These negotiations are dragging. Can they both shut their traps and agree on the April fight?
why would they sign a future fight with fights coming up? why lock into a rate for something in the future? if it was next then id agree he should sign

Wilder doesn't need to mention Joshua's name to boost his profile, it's the fight that everyone wants to see and Joshua is questioned about wilder constantly regardless. 6. Coherent sentences are unnecessary when you speak with your fists. Yelling bombbbbb squaaad is more than sufficient when you've ko'd every opponent you've faced. 7. this "Hearn was never going to fight this year" narrative is just sad and stale, tbh. we can go on all week about who stalled or who didn't want the fight. it's clearly wilder, based on the facts, not based on emotions or based on who can scream and shout the most expletives on social media. let's leave all that aside for a second.

moving forward. if the fight won't happen in 2018, which it won't, wilder has a contract for april 2019.

          1. if he's so serious about wanting this fight, why hasn't he signed?

          2. if he has concerns about that april 2019 contract, fine. he wants more money? fine. he doesn't like the terms, fine. why hasn't he sent the contract back with official comments?

Wilder was all prepared to sign the contract by that Friday. Finkel wrote and requested the time and the date of the fight but Hearn never answered back. Then Eddie responded "I'll supply you the dates" and then Shelly said fine; Send the contract by Friday then the very next day the WBA stepped in with a letter giving Joshua only a 24 hour period to each an agreement with Povetkin which was all orchestrated by Matchroom boxing.

No Wilder and boxing fans alike have a right to be ticked off because Eddie had misled us all into believing that the fight would occur sometime in 2018; Which turned out to be a big lie. Barry Hearn is already on record saying give AJ an extra 12 months and Eddie Hearn is also on record saying give Joshua one more fight before taking on Wilder after the Parker fight.

get ticked off all you want on false evidence. that's your problem. get ticked off at hearn and joshua all you want. that's your problem too.

Facts are still facts, and there are two undeniable facts right now:

              1. Wilder will remain irrelevant in boxing history until he fights Joshua.

              2. the only people preventing that fight from getting confirmed for as early as april 2019 right now are wilder and his team. they have a contract, but they won't sign it, won't get comments returned, and won't return a counter contract.

but they are perfectly fine going on social media screaming expletives and vilifying hearn.

People are moaning about the specifics in Hearn's contract because he conveniently left out any language guaranteeing the fight would be next, even though the agreed upon terms were that the fight would be next. You agree in principle to the major terms and then you go to contract. Hearn pulled a switcheroo at the end.

Whereas with the 50 million offer, which was a term sheet with plenty of details. That there would be no interim fight. That there would be no rematch clause. Which months the fight had to take place in. Who would pick the location. Etc. You don't send a contract when the term sheet has been rejected.

Wilder made an offer and AJ turned it down. That's why a contract was never sent. AJ made an offer and Wilder accepted. That's why a contract was sent. The contract wasn't in the spirit of what was agreed to, so the contract was rejected. Very simple.

I think it would make sense to revisit these negotiations after both men fight their next fights. wilder rejected this offer when he found out it wasn't next. locking yourself into a future fight with upcoming fights for both men is really ****** as anything can happen. after they both fight their fights hearn should offer wilder 35% and negotiate to 40% that's fair, no flat fees and no 50/50. they are both champs and the fight will be huge by 04/2019

Wrong! The only ones who are preventing the fight from getting confirmed by April 2019 is Anthony Joshua himself. What if he gets slept by Povetkin, then what?

In addition, to Wilder becoming irrelevant in boxing history? No, he is American. He will always be relevant. The only one who is running the risk of being irrelevant is Anthony Joshua if he is not willing to bend and agree to some of Wilder's terms.

The reason being is because he needs a broader audience. His popularity is only regional. While he is very popular in U.K. However in other parts of the world; Lets say America for instance, he is a virtual unknown.

If he doesn't get more American exposure he would go down in boxing history as irrelevant just like undefeated champions Sven Ottke and Joe Calzaghe are. No one outside of Europe has ever heard of them.
