Joshua/Joshua's camp clearly didn't want this fight next. You can talk about Wilder's paychecks compared to his all you want, but the dude turned down $50M with no legitimate excuse (on a fight that Hearn thinks is only worth €40M), because "A-Side", even though he was clearly being offered an "A-Side" guarantee. You Wilder fans have to stop with the $50 million talk.

You can’t moan about specifics in Hearn’s contract being the reason Wilder didn’t sign, and then turn around and state AJ should have signed a deal for $50 million that had NO DETAILS AT ALL.

You can’t have it both ways.

Anyway, Finkel admitting here he didn’t sign and blaming it on Hearn from what I can see. He had the contract in front of him, and now he’s whining about it and even going down the conspiracy route.

Should have just got it done, can’t turn back now and say ‘we didn’t do this/that because of x’. Bottom line is, you didn’t.

I accept the Brit is the A side but I also accept that the A side can make a fight happen just like Canelo made the GGG fight happen. Now why can’t you accept that AJ didn’t want the fight next ? Why can’t you accept the fact that AJ asked for 50 million then was not a man of his word ?

First, I see no problem with Breazeale/Wilder and Povetkin/Joshua this fall. It makes much more sense anyway. A good leadup to the eventual matchup. 2 legit serious contenders vs the 2 top HWs. Then we get the April 'All The Marbles' fight in England, and maybe a rematch there in the fall.

Here in the leadups we have seen all manner of back and forth, claims, speculations, threats, confusion, missteps... you name it. And of course it isn't a stretch to add it up that there's some blame that can be spread around to both sides. Both guys are serious threats to each other. Both have belts, even though Joshua has more. Wilder seems to think though that he needs to be worshiped. That won't work. He needs to lose that and just act like a human and relax. Maybe Joshua doesn't/didn't feel he was ready for Wilder, maybe he does feel he's ready. IMO he has a good attitude about all this, admits his strengths, faults and weaknesses, expresses a true desire to fight the best, all without showing a tenth of the huge ego Wilder has. Get all on board the Wilder train if you want though.... he truly hasn't fought the same level opponents as Joshua. Can after can after can... nearly 40 of 'em.

I feel confident we'll see the grand matchup this coming spring, and also confident it will be a great fight, however it goes. IMO Joshua wins simply because he's the more complete guy in the ring. Wilder could win, yes, but only with his power. Joshua has the better skill set in the boxer dept. And something that hasn't been brought up much, no matter how this goes, Wilder's profile in the States will be raised from this fight, probably internationally as well. So even if he loses, his next fights after his 1 or 2 with Anthony will be more lucrative for him. I'm sure Wilder's people know that, but of course they aren't going to admit it.

Let's just enjoy a great night for the sport this coming spring. Cheers to all fans who, like me, can't wait for the action.
