Just left the Ortiz vs Joshua thread with my answer, it's Ortiz. I do not know why he is rated so highly. I think maybe some people are generally in awe of the Cuban boxing program (this probably also explains why Lara is held in such high regard) . Ortiz really is 38, he's not an old man, he is/was good, just never great. Ortiz was never even the best HW fighter on the Cuban team.

All champions fight weak opposition from time to time. To say GGG built his career beating bums is a ****** lie by a ****** liar. He beat many top ten contenders. Go to boxrec or any other rating place and see how highly his opponents were rated when he fought them if you want to be honest and accurate which clearly you don't. I do agree that I thought he clearly beat jacobs, but i thought he lost to canelo, but the fact that many people dispute those results, make them arguable...that's not a term i just made up. At least Canelo and Danny *try* fighting the best (Lara, Floyd, Quillin, etc.). Gennady fights Vanes (retired JMW coming off a 3-3 stretch, 2 year layoff, fighting on 2 week camp) instead of Sergei Dervenchenko or Demetrius Andrade - who are both MW and both active and both better.
