Really? How much will he make against Parker?

Oh and the problem is that when you participate in a purse bid the winning bidder gets the fight. You cannot say that you will participate in a purse bid only if your own promotor wins. That’s disgraceful.

Then how do you explain Miller taking part in a pursebid where epic in all likelihood would win the bid?

I think Miller's probably lost more here, he's passed the eye test somewhat so far but if he wants to be credible as a real threat to the top dogs then he needs another step up win, an only semi-convincing win over Helenius doesn't really cut it. Pulev would have been a good opportunity for him to really step up and put his name out there with a win, although I do kind of understand not wanting to fight in Bulgaria. In addition to the obvious disadvantage of fighting in your opponent's backyard he probably wouldn't get the US audience exposure he wants, but his reluctance to bite that bullet has cost him a big opportunity that he's probably not going to get again for the foreseeable future. As it is Pulev hasn't really lost out because the replacement is a credible opponent with a name and it's a fight you'd probably favour him to win. Fury has the most to gain here, people won't expect too much out of him in this fight but if he pulls off an upset then it's a huge boost for his career and he has the ability to make that a credible prospect.

At least Miller was willing to do the fight in the US or neutral territory.

            Just amazing...
First of all, the purse bid for Whyte-Pulev was 1,5M so Whyte's purse was 375K. That's not even half of his highest purse but more importantly he will make about 5 times that against Parker.

Secondly, he doesn't need to win an eliminator to fight AJ. He can have that fight when both him and AJ want it and currently neither do. Also, it was a way for Hearn to get back at Pulev for pulling out of the AJ fight due to injury in the last moment.

The Miller situation is completely different. Purse bid is 2M and Miller's getting 500K, which is not only his highest purse by far, but there is no other fight for him right now that will make him anything close to that. Moreover, this was his chance to get a shot at AJ, something he's been crying about for a year.

I hope you see the difference. Whyte is fighting a stronger opponent and ex-champion and is laughing his way to the bank (and so is Hearn) while Big Baby will be fighting some bum in the US for half the money he could get against Pulev. Straight-up duck by Miller, who like other US heavies has a big mouth and does a lot of talk, but not much walk.

AJ has started this whole "I'll only fight at home " movement.

The only one with ball's to fight hard fights abroad is parker.

Should've been Miller vs. Ortiz in Brooklyn!

Well he’s main eventig a ppv so he’ll make a lot more than the 375k he would’ve got for going to Bulgaria I don’t know exactly how much he’s making.

Boxing is a business. I don’t see any disgrace in taking a harder, more marketable fight at home for more money. It’s unfortunate for pulev but that’s the way the world works sometimes.
