WE know now that Joe was finished at the highest level and couldn't go anymore after all the wars he'd been through. Hop had 4 good years left in him and showed he was sill near prime. As for the decision we should give Calzaghe massive praise for coming here and fighting an American in America and getting the decision. That doesn't happen often.

I wouldn't say Hopkins was is in his prime at age 43 but he was still an elite fighter and Calzaghe wasn't really in his prime at that point either. Remember Hopkins went on to win 3 more belts at 175 and became the lineal champion at LHW at age 46 so he clearly still had quite a lot left in the tank when he fought Joe. Anybody who doesn't give Calzaghe credit for that win doesn't know what they're talking about.
