I preferred the humbler version of Golovkin that stuck to vague, broken little statements that weren't blatantly disrespectful.

My theory is that he's getting older (also fighting tougher opponents), and as he loses his ability to shut down people in the ring, he's turned to mouthing off. He knows the judges are going to decide this fight. He's not going to KO Canelo.

But there's no reason for Golovkin to lower himself to the absolute pond scum that is GoldenBoy and Canelo Alvarez. The fight doesn't need extra promotion.
