Is Ortiz/Rios still happening? Hearn wanted one of those 2 for Josh Kelly's next fight

It is pretty ridiculous how far most of these guys have fallen, but at least those fights are at least, on paper, competitive (except maybe Angulo-Rosado at this point in time.) If they've fallen to that level together it's appropriate for them to fight, so long as each of these fights doesn't get billing as the fight of the century or whatever.

Again if Haymon was Caucasian, you'd be claiming PBC as the best thing that ever happened to boxing

Exactly. There was a time when only the truly biggest stars (Pac, May, Oscar, Cotto) could fight once or twice a year, even then they fought twice a year if not 3 times.

Now complete unknowns or guys looking to build a career are barely fighting twice a year. It is a shambles.

I don't mind the first two fights. I think they are evenly matched and can turn out to be competitive fights that may lead to a bigger fight I have no interest in the Angelo and Jennings fights.

I think Haymon will eventually lose interest in boxing now that he has "saved" the sport. It will be an opportunity to pass his inventory of fighters on to TMT and throw Floyd one last bone. Not sure who in their right mind would sign with him given the recent surge of unhappy TMT fighters.

Worst thing about fights like this is the winner is considered a reasonable opponent for an elite fighter and the loser can say 'I only lost to a name guy so I can have another fight vs another shot guy'. Hope we don't get Spence-Alexander and Rios-Berto after this. Khan, Brook, Thurman are likely eyeing these shot corpses as well.
