DeGale has given all he had in his last fights. He does have balls, but is looking rather bad of late. I think Uzcategui would have knocked him out, so better for James if he ends his career with a less severe beating and more money in his pocket.

What I like about SeGale and very few fighters do this or have this intelligence :

he is in control of his career, knows what he wants to do and no one can get him tochange his mind, and I respect this man more for that then for his wins& titles. I hope he has a glorious retirement...

DeGale is 1 of the very few British fighters that I like, he's done enough in the sport that he can go out however he feels is best for him. **** the haters!

DeGale deserves to pick and choose who he fights at this point b/c he’s faced everyone and he’s even fought abroad.

DeGale’s job is to maximize his earning potential and make sure he’s set for the rest of life.

He's been promised a shot at the winner of WBSS, which by all accounts is a tougher fight than uzcatsguy or whatever his name is.

Why does he think people will pay to watch a fighter without faith in himself? What is the point of even boxing anymore.

Retire if you are not up for a challenge but these boxers are getting too disrespectful and shameless these days. Claiming to duck is nothing to be proud of and is as low as a career gets.

people will pay him enough for it to be worth swallowing whatever dignity you think these guys operate with.

believe me, you'd be doing the same thing if you knew you weren't as good as you used to be, and that you didn't have the skills to make any real money doing anything else. degale's going to get paid six figures in purse for his next fight most likely. might even crack a million bucks after sponsorship, TV money, etc comes in.
