Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: All GGG Does Is Come Forward; Canelo More Skillful

Oscar De La Hoya claims Canelo Alvarez has seen the best of Gennady Golovkin. It is Alvarez, according to his promoter, who can be better in their rematch September 15 in Las Vegas. De La Hoya stated Tuesday during a split-site press conference streamed live on Facebook that Alvarez is more motivated now that there's so much bad blood between these middleweight rivals.

"All he does is come forward and fights, and that’s it."
That's all he needed to do Oscar because your fighter had an idiotic strategy of only fighting for brief moments in each round.

Opinion and hearsay.... The record books state what happened. The same way the record books state the first fight between Canelo & GGG was a draw.

Oscar is right. If Canelo wants to win, he needs to sit back against the ropes and shake his head more.

All I heard was that Canelo was scared the first fight. If it didnt change by the end of the fight it wont change at all. He's still gonna be scared. Whats he gonna do move more and get tired even faster?

MY man no disrespect but your comment makes little to no sense. Because in those “brief moments” Canelo managed to throw more power punches at a much higher connect percentage. What was GGG “idiotic” strategy, no body punches? cut the ring off but not throw punches when Canelo is on the ropes? Win the fight by only throwing jabs? Just discussing. Again no disrespect

Ok, sounds simple enough. Never understood the logic of talking down your opponents skill. So, if Canelo loses vs this basic 1 dimensional fighter, can we then say with certainty that Canelo was never really that good to begin with?
