Forget injuries, Joshua can make that 50m dollars in two fights. Whether it’s against Fury/Whyte 2... or Povetkin/Bellew. He can easily make £20m pounds for his next two fights with PPV. He is only 20 odd fights in to his career. He goes up in pay, this Wilder fight can end up paying him £30m if marketed right.

At 20 odd fight he is already making what? £15m per fight? He would only go up making more money the bigger he gets. His biggest money fight is still Fury once he is fit, next is Wilder, then Povetkin, Whyte rematch, then Miller if marketed right, then up and comers like Dubois etc Fact is the potential is there. That should be great for the boxers but I sense a bit of jealousy from some of you guys.Comment

This is an interesting discussion. This whole argument started because AJ got carried away in an interview and said 'yeah if it's worth $100M then give me $50 and I'll take it'. He was trying to make a point. Wilder's team somehow got the backing and came up with a miracle $50M offer. Once they did, AJ and his team quickly realized that they ***ed up. Not because they're ducking or whatever the idiots will say, but because it would a very dumb business decision for them to take that. AJ makes $20-30M easy by himself. It's very much not worth it to him to give up everything and be at Wilder's whim. It would be a very dumb decision on AJ's part to take that offer.
I'm still reallllllllllly curious to see where Wilder got that backing from. Dude never made close to $10M before, yet he somehow found $50M? Imagine if Golovkin told Canelo "hey come to Kazakhstan I'll give you $50M". Wouldn't you wonder who the sponsor is?
If Golovkin could come up with the money, as long as he could prove the money to be real, Alvarez would definitely consider it. No different than Pacquiao; he couldn't prove the money for that Khan fight, and there are doubts about this Matthysse fight too.Comment

Hey Eddie Hearn fans who root him on in ripping AJ off, here's some independent figures courtesy of Forbes and the Sportings News. This is for the period of time in which AJ fought Brezeale, Molina and Klitschko. Does not look anywhere near those numbers you keep quoting from Betty's iFL interviews. ****ing weirdos:
'Last April, Joshua beat Wladimir Klitschko via 11th-round knockout to unify the IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight titles in Wembley Stadium. Joshua earned, by far, the biggest payday of his career, splitting a massive purse 50/50 with Klitschko.
'According to Forbes, Joshua earned $18.5 million for the calendar year ending June 16, 2017, as reported in its World’s Highest Paid Athletes series. According to an ESPN report, Joshua is set to earn 65-70 percent of the profits from his upcoming March 31 title match against Joseph Parker.'Comment

Yo Betty Hearn fan girls, real quick: What are you going to do when AJ bolts Matchroom come November? Why do you conflate Betty's success with AJ's, even when they're own interests are at odds? Why are you so obsessed with a promoter???Comment

Like AJ would want a second concussion. If this is anything, it's a career ender for the loser. Thousands, not millions from here foreward. A rematch after a blistering KO on either side wouldn't sell. It might not be allowed. Why put all that at risk for less than 50 million dollars? AJ is such a money machine, but he can't raise the ante? Hearn gots billions and still squawking about a split on half of what he refused. It doesn't make any sense.Last edited by SUBZER0ED; 07-02-2018, 02:28 PM.Comment

Not every famous person likes to do interviews and post on social media. That's Deontay Wilder's style. He is a dramatic and emotional guy.
Joshua is more methodical and jovial. I doubt anyone is keeping him from speaking. He doesn't have to work as hard to sell himself and has been more successful at it than Wilder has. Why would he feel the need to do a lot of muckraking in the media when he is already doing so well without any of that? And you know that Joshua isn't the fighter out of the two that has fought lesser competition. This would have been the best time for this fight to happen. And I think the winner would have been in a position to make a lot more money after the fight has occurred into their next fights.Comment

I've just looked at a couple of newspaper articles stating Joshua's purses.
£15m for Klitchsko.
£10m - £11m for Takam estimate
£16m - £18m for Parker estimate
This doesn't include sponsorships and endorsements but taking the highest estimates brings it to £44m. $57m according to Google converter right now.
So it's splitting hairs really, either way it's a significant amount of earnings for 3 fights.
Keep dancing if you want, lolComment
