Point your missing is that Parker wasn't seen as a real threat, so Hearn was willing to go as high as 33% as low risk. Wilder is high risk, so Hearn won't necessarily go higher than for Parker in percentage terms. Its not like Canelo/Golovkin where neither of them had any big money alternatives, Joshua can soldier on making big money without Wilder, specifically without having to take the risk of losing to him.

Hearn knows this and would only go into a Wilder fight if Joshua's cut had enough 'insurance premium' there to make up for lost opportunities if Joshua lost, I'd be surprised if Hearn shifted to a percentage, but if he did, I'm betting he would be looking at around 80% for Joshua, far from anything Wilder would accept. Fight won't happen.

Ian Botham was the second coming, so AJ would have to be the third.

Wilder gets paid 3mill tops a fight and he’s being offered 15 and still turning it down . Greedy Kent should jump at the chance to take the belts and become the main man

If wilder managed to win he could call the big money shots
I was wondering about something like this myself. It doesn't seem that Lennox cares much for Joshua. Wilder can barely fill a local little league stadium in Alabama, but he deserves 40% for his single belt!? Joshua is a huge star in the UK and should clearly get the lion's share for this fight. Now if the fight is close or Wilder wins, I can then see him commanding more in the rematch. However, if AJ owns him, Deontay probably won't even be back. This fight should not serve as Wilder's pension.

Lewis is referancing a fight AT Wembley and he says Wilder doesn't deserve 50% ? Did you Wilder fan girls even read what he said ? lol

The fight would be nearly 100 Million and 40% would be about 40 Million .

Does Wilder REALLY deserve that ? Absolutely not .

His contract should be 30% with 50% split down the middle should the fight go over 100 Million !

Lewis is ALSO Wilders friend and will be biased bc he represented the WBC , many of the things he comes out with is far fetched , at least this one is somewhat realistic ! lol

if he wasn't a draw the fight wouldn't be bigger here, and it is. the 50 million dollar guarantee with upside was based on the fight being in las vegas and on american PPV. just for some context as i get that most of the british don't understand this, joshua vs klitshcko did less than hopkins - calzaghe did at the gate. really! the economy of california alone is bigger than the entirety of england. really! look up the GDP of that state and look up the GDP of england.

eddie and his father have admitted this. the fight is bigger here. the rematch will surely be here. eddie turned down an amount that would make his offer the equivalent of a 10-15% split on the purse. their primary reasoning for taking less money was that they wanted the fight in england, where it generates less! again, look it up, this is all veyr well established fact.
              *Yawns *

What's the most Wilder has generated in a fight? Don't worry, I'll wait.

And keep thinking it is down to be being from the UK. I rooted for Spence to beat Brook and most of my favourite fighters in recent years have been American: Mayweather, Ward, Bradley, Crawford.

Joshua isn't a fighter I care about but some ***** is just set in stone. He's the bigger draw and he has the better resume. Wilder has done nothing to warrant an even split and he doesn't bring enough to the table to demand.

It’s boring talking about the split / fight now . I should know better than commenting these days ha

Obviously the fights not happening for a while . I personally don’t think the fight does more than 60 million in the states or the U.K.

                Hope it gets made anyway

Even when Lewis was coming up being a recking ball British fight fans (mostly) were on Bruno’s side

Think it’s because he fought for Canada in the olympics . Sounds daft but I think that had a lot to do with Lewis not being as well loved

The flat fee thing is horse**** since every fighter should have a slice of pie in any big fight, but he definitely doesn't deserve 60-40. Compare it to Golovkin-Canelo negotiations. Wilder is not as popular as Golovkin, not as marketable, and doesn't bring multiple belts to the table. He's more of a challenger to AJ's 3 belts, putting his own 1 on the line. However, he's an american HW champ, a glamorous position to be in, which works in his favor.

So if you look at the first split Canelo-GGG had (30% I believe), and maybe make it slightly worse, like 25% - that's about right. Maybe make me $10M guarantee + 25% purse cut - that sounds about right to me.

That's right, I remember him being announced in his early fights as fighting out of Canada. They even displayed the Canadian flag at times, if memory serves. Yet, he was actually born in the UK! I think he had moved to Canada at age 12.
