Tom Loeffler, promoter for WBA, IBO, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs), expects his man to set the record straight on who the best fighter in the world really is. thats would just about do it, a win between two number1 of their weight classes.

Having said that if Clenelo wins, he has a good argument for being P4P number one, two sides to every coin.

I dont agree, it doesn’t give either the p4p spot. Loma, Crawford, are too strong of contenders. GGG needs more top wins. But since GGG will be 37 fighting a Prime Canelo, in Vegas, were you have to completely dominate the Red Head to win, a GGG win means more.

A Canelo win could very well mean he didn’t lose by a lot. Or he got a draw and gifted a victory. A Prime Canelo that is as good as some think should win this fight, everything is stacked in his favorite.

A Prime Canelo, having shown he has used PED at least once with no real consequence but to age his main foe more, it won’t tell me a whole lot, except that GGG is slowing, and Canelo can always get a win on the cards.

Since I have no reason to Trust Vegas or VADA, Canelo would have to dominate GGG to the point it was absurd for him to move the needle in my eyes. And even then I wouldn’t see it as that great. I mean GGG is well past the age guts decline.

I always felt he aired for ggg to age on purpose and show a slowing down. There are parts of me that wonder if GGG laid off the gas to get this fight to this second stage, but I’m not convinced.

It definitely keeps him up there applying pressure to Crawford and Lomachenko but I'm not sure it definitely takes him above either of them.

Sad but true. Canelo has talent but his legacy will be tainted forever in boxing. Golovkin will beat Canelo and could cure cancer and still some wouldn't make him P4P.

A golovkin ko of Canelo would most certainly put him at p4p #1 in my eyes anything less than that and I still have Crawford at #1 but he will get pushed back until he gets Spence in the ring.
