It doesn't particularly matter. He's on gear but won't fail. Why would he fail? The promoter, fans and the Orgs don't want that. 99% are on gear. Maybe, maybe Tony Bellew isn't on it but that's about it.
It's time people got realistic. PED tests are a dog and pony show. You only fail if you completely take the piss with it (not always) or if the promoter/org wants you to fail.Comment

And against Povetkin. It didn't matter then though. Then Povetkin 'failed' a week or 2 after and Stiverne ran away from the fight.Comment

Yea thats what I said around the time he was going to fight wilder then against stiverne but my point is Ortiz failed a drug test twice just like povetkin but wilder still fought OrtizComment

That's just protocol. Just recently, The WBA in association with VADA has implemented its "Clean Boxing Policy". Therefore and likewise Anthony Joshua should also be tested too.Comment

I don't know if everyone agrees that three fights is a long time.
Also, this article appears to be very misleading. Povetkin is enrolled in year-round random VADA testing anyway. Joshua isn't. Duh, Povetkin is fine with AJ doing the same testing that Povetkin is already doing.
AJ isn't enrolled in VADA's year round random testing. For literally the last three months AJ could be taking almost anything. When a fighter fights once every six months or so, that means that fighter could use all kinds of peds for the three months immediately after a fight, and then quit for the three months before the next fight. That way, you still reap the benefits of peds, but without worry about failing a test. Unless, you are too ****** and push it too close, like many suspect Canelo did.Povetkin is and has been enrolled in VADA's year round random testing. Ever since the WBC rescinded his suspension a year and a half to two years ago. AJ isn't. Povetkin can't cycle off for one fight, because he has been enrolled in VADA random testing anyway!
AJ on the other hand, just turned down a $50 million payday. If AJ woulda accepted, he could either lose to Wilder or if AJ won, he would then be forced into VADA's year round testing. The same testing Povetkin has been undergoing for some time now.Comment
