  • Comments Thread For: Jeff Horn Admits That Money Will Dictate His Next Opponent

Jeff Horn has reaffirmed his desire to challenge for a world title again but admits money will probably be the major motivator for his next fight. That makes a clash with Anthony Mundine a distinct possibility, with Horn's management set to meet the veteran's camp this week to continue preliminary discussions over a bout that could net him several million dollars.

Why not retire at the age of 30 and go back to teaching. Stop being delusional and disregard Fenech!

Horney had the feeling that he has a name in boxing. Too delusional!

Horn needs to be realistic, his moment in the sun is coming to an end. His options are limited. He has to choose wisely, and bank what he can. He might be able to land one more fight against a decent name at 147, but it isn't a given that anyone will care enough about him for the fight to be made.
I'm guessing his best chance is to be thrown in against a young up-and-comer who will be happy to have an ex-titlist on their resume - one where there is enough interest in the younger fighter that there would be some money in the fight.

The Mundine fight should be his last option. Sadly, it will actually make him a bit of cash. But it will likely remain an option for a while. He could have another fight against an actual, real fighter first, and bank what he can - then fight Mundine and cash his last paycheck.
