It's not a tragedy.

Boxers train for 3 months before they get in the ring, then psych themselves up to try and render the other man unconscious with blows to the head. It's pure savagery. There's bound to be the odd occasion when someone ends up living in darkness surrounded by the stench of their own faeces. Especially when Americans come to visit the UK.

The G-Man is just collateral damage. At least he's really funny now - he just keeps on giving.

Fighters like Mayweather, Hopkins, Taylor and Dawson aren't putting anyone in a coma. Good fighters but not destroyers like Benn.

Now as a fighter myself, I can't condone seeing fighters badly hurt in the ring. But I will. Especially arrogant Yank ones. The G Man got what was coming to him.

If I end up getting badly hurt in the ring then so be it. But I won't because I'm not American.

Although what's strange about this debate is that the G-Man suffered these terrible injuries, yet he actually quit at the end of that fight.

i had it close as i scored the first round 10-7 for g-man plus the 10-8 in the 8, i cant remember my exact score but i think i had Benn winning 1-2 more rounds, but g-man up by a point. you have to remember that past about the 4-5 round he was clearly having problems he had his mouth guard half out his mouth i think that if he didn’t have this problem developing during the fight he would have won shows how good he was to make it a close fight. he quit cos he had brain damage if he had carried on he would probably be dead.
