If he retires at 35, that would be a good long career he would be having. Lets see if his body can survive the GGG punishments first.

His resume is already really good for a 27 year old.

These days they wait too long to move guys up. Remember what guys like DLH, Jones, Trinidad, vargas, mayweather, morales, barrera ect, what their resumes looked like by the time they were 30?

This latest generation, there is a trend with them waiting until these guys are 30ish to match them with decent fighters. Spence, Wilder, those dudes are like 30 now and only have another 5 years left of near peak performance and they have barely started. How has wilder-AJ not been made yet and they are purposefuly delaying Spence-crawford. They have taken almost 10 years to make khan-brook when they are from the same country and the same weight class and have had that rivalry. Could you imagine if they took 10 years to make DLH-Trinidad or DLH-Mosley ? They used to just make the ***ing match ups back then when the guys were in their 20s.

Benitez, vargas, Whitaker, barrera, just to name a few were all better boxers than Canelo, all done winning big fights before 35. In some cases before 30. At mw, he's as heavy but much shorter than the top MW's and will take punishment without a doubt.

Fighting at 160pds his career will be done well before he physically turns 35 I say around 32-33 tops...

Just look at Ward and Bradley both at 33

Floyd retired at 40 but he will be the 1st to tell u he was breaking down at 28 after Gatti but nobody turning down the type of money Floyd was getting per fight and nobody is even coming close to getting that.. If that was the case these fighters wouldn't be retiring at 33-34 and long as they healthy they all would fight until 40s

It's like saying if Canelo wins the second fight it will erase all doubt. Nah... BS, the first fight will be disputed for a very long time, regardless of the results of the second fight.

                    I was a fan

Clenelo should retire now, he threw his legitimacy as a elite boxer away with his drugs scandal ; history will remember Alvarez as a weight-bully drug cheat fraud - a better version of Chavez jr.

He’s been fighting at a high level for a long time. 7-8-9 years or whatever it is til he’s 35 seems like a stretch. That’s like 20+ more fights. Seems crazy unless he fights once a year a few times and tries to stay fresh like Floyd. But he’s in a bigger weight class and taking barder shots. Seems like a lot but we’ll see.
