Floyd's style was prettier to watch and he fought way better competition than Wilder. His controversial persona out of the ring helped build his infamy which turned into pay per view success.
Floyds a phenomenal fighter , beautiful boxer but he has no charisma and a fake forced persona that is easily seen throughout by real people but unfortunately in this day and time most people are plexiglass and think floyds some real street dude who rose to fame and likes the finer things in life but hes pretty cheesy and is the worst dressed celebrity I’ve ever seen whom by the way has a stylist and only wears italian brands and cant pull it off. Now I’m not saying wilder is dapper dan but he looks comfortable in his outfits and hes not nervous in front of an audience. Floyd is only comfortable when in front of asssslickers not people who ask him questions that are not praising his purchases or his ability

floyd was not popular until he fought oscar de la hoya on PPV. that fight crossed over to the casual audience because it was promoted properly.

these things are done with calculation, wilder will become a star overnight, particularly if they can get this fight in the US.

yes, people decide who they want to follow, but really it comes down to a push from CBS and showtime, one of the biggest media companies in the world. stars are not born, they are made!. yes talent, style, charisma, etc is a factor and you need it, but the most important aspect is investment in the promotion. press tours, media appearances, paid spots for casuals to be able to tune in on TV, radio, social media, to have the fight pitched to them. introduce the players, show highlight reels, and make sure they know the date and that it is on PPV.

this fight will be huge. huge. floyd mayweather fought connor freaking mcgregor for 4 million ppvs at 100 a pop! connor had never boxed in his life and he's not a f#cking HW with knockout power like these two!

belioeve me, casual fans won't eventhink these guys are real. the only reason they watched floyd is because they didnt' have two 6.5' 250 lbers with adonis bodies to watch.
