So we have to assume that Hearn told the WBA the status of negotiations on Monday (including Finkels Sunday reply) and Mendoza simply said....so we don't care give me a date for Povetkin.

I dont believe Mendoza made such a decision.
"The WBA have allowed over a month extension to negotiations with Povetkin and also ongoing discussions with Deontay Wilder. It appears the Wilder team have not returned the contract for the fight and therefore we are requesting a date for the Joshua versus Povetkin fight with immediate effect." Gilberto Mendoza, WBA President.

Yeah...that was factual....it appears they haven't returned the contract.

Not it appears no deal can be reached.
Not appears Team Wilder won't sign.

Again...did Mendoza know that Team Wilder would sign if Hearn added language guaranteeing Wilder was next? We have to make too many assumptions to see Hearn as clean in this situation.

The WBA clearly knew that the contract was for them to fight each other next and I'm 100% sure Wilder's team knew that too. All this this stuff about Wilder thinking it was for a fight next April is pure bullshit invented by Wilder fanboys to give him an excuse for not signing.

Of course there isn't going to be. But the point is that the worst thing that happens if the WBA deadline passes is that they order a purse bid. Meaning Hearn would still have two weeks to sign a Wilder fight or sign a Povetkin fight before the purse bid was held.

Hearn used the "deadline" to fool fans who didn't understand what the deadline actually meant.

That's a lie. Oct/Nov are mentioned nowhere in the contract.

Of course, but you have until 15 minutes before a purse bid envelope is opened to cancel the whole purse bid. So there was plenty of time to sign the Wilder fight and get an exemption. Absolutely no reason Wilder couldn't have signed last Friday other than Hearn refused to put in the contract that the fight would take place in 2018.

                • What an idiot.

AJ is fighting an Olympic gold medalist; Wilder will likely fight AJ's leftovers. Not sure how that garners him further leverage.

                    • FACT: Wilder clearly did everything he could to make that fight

FACT: Joshua clearly did not do everything he could to make that fight

                      not much to discuss here
