He can punch but doesn't have enough reach to hit a much taller and more mobile AJ. It took him a few rounds to breach Price's porous, stationary-target defence just by virtue of Price's height, what is he going to do against a target that can move and has a good jab? Maybe he'll really go for it and try and bum rush AJ to get him out of there, but Joshua can just tie him up the same way Klitschko did when he fought Povetkin and if he tries that strategy he'll be out of gas by round 4 or 5. This fight ends one of two ways, with Povetkin walking onto a right hand or uppercut as he tries to press and getting sparked out, or with him lurching to a one-sided decision loss after getting picked off by jabs and straight rights for most of the fight. Hearn knows this, if it was actually as dangerous as he says he would have took the bigger-money Wilder fight first rather than risk this fight derailing it.
      amen

a young, taller, parker couldnt get to AJ with any signifigant punch...povetkin wont be able to

Scenario 1: All 80,000 will stand outside the stadium and tear up their tickets in protest at Joshua not fighting Wilder.

        Scenario 2: that doesn't happen

Povetkin was a dangerous fight about 7 years ago, about the time his youth (cough, cough) enabled him to be extremely muscular and fast. But its 7 years later, the power and speed gone. Joshua can lose if he's careless, but that's about it.

Yeah all the Americans should boycott it, that way he will only make $20m, poor guy, such a shame for him. They'll all be getting excited about Wilder vs Dominic 'AJ's leftovers' Brezeale. Oh, but hold on will Wilder risk it? I mean Dom was once a world title holder and he's not ancient, he's only ever tried facing someone with some pedigree once in 41 fights, too soon to try I again I reckon.

“My thoughts on ANTHONYjoshua and Bronzebomber situation are that when I was champ, I wanted to face the best to show the world who’s the best. Period,” Lewis stated in his first Tweet. “I’ve heard them both speak on it, but I’ve also seen that AJ has changed his tune. This isn’t a 2yr down the line thing!" - Lennox Lewis

Joshua changed his tune, and started hitting high notes too! Thanks Champ for speaking out! Gives me hope that not all the Brits are ****ing idiots like Eddie Hearn!

So Povetkin was a bum when Wilder signed to fight him, Ortiz is the best name on Wilder's record, and who is Wilder fighting next? Which challenge is it that Wilder fans ever got excited about seeing him against?

It's all a bit schoolyard bias these threads. Kids bickering.
There are plenty of fights out there for both guys, to go writing everyone off as worthless is to devalue watching boxing.
