I thought a rematch clause was in place and would have happened if he not been stripped of the IBF title and it was but a rematch wasn't necessary for the exception of the IBF because Fury was Wlad's mandatory challenger for both the WBO and WBA titles at the time anyway; Not including the IBO which was considered a minor World title anyhow.

I was hoping he was going to be in an eliminator for a title shot but haven't heard anything since the IBF said he was supposed to fight Fielding a few months ago. AJ is ranked first and Whyte is ranked I think 7th so Fury is no longer considered the best British heavyweight. You have to go by the Fury of right now, today and you are going by the Fury of 3 years ago.
