    It's all relative.

How many American boxers sell over 14,000 tix in NY and do over a million live viewers on linear Showtime?

if you dont believe wilder is known now..then you cant think this whole "negotiation" raises his profile any!!!

the only people following it day to day are us guys that already were....this failed negotiation does not sell wilder any more tickets or make him any more money than he already did...maybe a few here and there....or a couple of extra bucks...but nothing substantial

thats why you k now wilder wanted this fight now...ASAP....beating AJ is the only thing that launches him to superstardom

AJ is the one running because he knows wilder can derail it all

wilder might go from making 2 to 2.5 in his next fight

but AJ loses to wilder and really gives a **** to see him fight some eurobum after that

Ryan Garcia is one of the more well known fighters in the US as well, but unlike Wilder, he isn't a major premium cable headliner yet.
why does Ryan Garcia gave more Instagram followers than Wilder since that was so important u mentioned it first.

And correct your statement. There were 14000 in attendance. Not 14000 tickets sold.

The AJ/Wilder fight this year, in late 2018 would only do moderate numbers. A fight that is heavily promoted (yes, whats happening right now is called PROMOTION) for almost a year with way more and very involved fans, fighters with grudges and disrespect for each other, and the fight getting tons of media coverage and months of months of added promotion will do very good numbers in 2019.

The marketing strategy is working like a charm, both teams are in the news almost daily with their back and forth, open negotiations, blaming and namecalling, "he said that, she said that" etc.

Why do you think Finkel started sending Emails about usually internal negotiations meant for Hearn to certain boxing journalists first or at the same time? Hearn also does a ton of "work" with his hour long interviews/videos talking about the negotations openly and having a ton of fun doing so.

The fans are getting involved heavily, specially on social media like on this forum, even casual fans start to pay attention and are taking a side. There's usually UK fans siding with AJ and US fans siding with Wilder. Everyone feels like they are right and speaking the truth defending their side, but nobody really knows for sure, except Hearn and Finkle.

Anyway, this all is basically free promotion, a win/win situation for everyone involved, except the naive fans who want to see the fight now and dont realize that they are getting played by both teams.

Wilder is getting the publicity, promotion and exposure he never had before in his career. AJ is also getting more popular, it doesnt matter if its good or bad publicity for a fighter, as long as people watch your fights to see you win or lose.

Stop being naive and get so mad/involved, realize that this fight is getting promoted right now, both teams are doing their job and just fooling the fans a bit. In 6 months nobody will even care about who said what or did what right now.
Very good breakdown of what's actually happening.

The side handed the AGREED contract has one simple task ......

                  SIGN it !

Guess what happens ? A fight has to happen and if Wilder wants that fight in 2018 he WOULD have gotten it !

Garcia has a big following and is one of the most popular American fighters. Wilder not having the biggest following of all time doesn't change the fact that he has a much bigger following than most. Ratings, social media, attendance, etc all indicate Wilder is one of the biggest American attractions in boxing, if not the biggest.

This is actually a pretty damn good breakdown. I have no idea how smart AJ And Wilder are, but I can absolutely believe that Haymon & Hearn agreed to this beforehand.
