Getting ready for a September PPv. What’s Mayweather promotions doing?Jesus Rojas Knocks out Claudio Marrero in a good fight in Sept of 2017, becomes ranked #10 on the espn list. and has been on the shelf since & now he's not even ranked! on top of that, now you have Selby, Quigg & Nonito Donaire all ranked in the espn top 10 & they all lost their last fight... he has been in a holding pattern because he won a intern WBA belt with it he became mandatory for the WBA. Leo and Mares held the super and regular WBA belts. Rojas has been waiting for WBA to enforce his mandatory against either of those guys and didn't want to take a fight in between because any loss and he loses his spot. Same thing happened with Spence after he won the eliminator for the IBF title shot against Brook. He had to wait I think 10 months without fighting because he was waiting for his title shot with Brook who fought GGG first and then long layoff for injury and Spence had to keep waiting and decided not to take any fight in between because a loss or injury loses his spot in line.Jesus Rojas Knocks out Claudio Marrero in a good fight in Sept of 2017, becomes ranked #10 on the espn list. and has been on the shelf since & now he's not even ranked! on top of that, now you have Selby, Quigg & Nonito Donaire all ranked in the espn top 10 & they all lost their last fight... Problem is WBA had 2 champs super and regular Leo Cruz and Mares have kept both belts hostage as they were supposed to unify that belt late last year. A rematch nobody wanted to see in the first place. Then Leo said I want a tune up first against a tomato can so both took meaningless fights which pushed their fight to 2018. Then the fight was delayed again. It's not about golden boy it's about Rojas waiting for WBA to enforce his mandatory fight. Now we hearing Leo might move up or unify against another belt holder which if WBA allows it will push off Rojas title shot even more. It sucks but this is how the belt org politics phuks with fighters careers.Last edited by bigdunny1; 06-28-2018, 09:46 AM.Comment

I don't think cruz is EVER fighting him. He can make more money fighting other guys that are not as big a puncher and if they ever force him to he is vacating or moving up in weight. Rojas might have to just move on fight someone else and give up the pipe dream of the WBA making Cruz fight him. Rojas is too dangerous a fighter for any of these champs to fight him unless it's enforced by 1 of these crooked belt orgs. He can either move on and take other fights for less money or keep waiting and hoping he lands the big Cruz fight or that Cruz get's stripped and he gets a vacated title shot.
It's a risk either way fans were upset that Spence was kept on the shelf waiting for Brook. But there are examples like Amir Iman who was in same boat but decided not to wait to take a another fight when he was already mandatory. He ended up getting knocked out by Granados who at the time was lightly regarded as nothing more then a journey man. That KO ruined Iman career, lost his title shot, lost his payday and he had to wait 3 more years to get in position again for a title shot for less money.Comment

Man that sucks big time! The guy is literally rotting away! What a real shame.he has been in a holding pattern because he won a intern WBA belt with it he became mandatory for the WBA. That will be exactly a full year since his last fight. Jo-Jo Diaz...I love it they keep feeding him to all these up & coming guys Abraham Lopez (undefeated), Jorge Lara (undefeated, Claudio Marrero & now Jo-Jo Diaz. And he keeps winning. Go get 'em Rojas!Originally posted by MastrangeloI heard he's going to fight Jo-Jo, likely on Canelo vs Golovkin card.Comment
