Definitely Not Happy...
about this. The way it went down I think I'll skip paying for Joshua-Povetkin. Hearn just wasted everyone's time. For a beltholder to accept a flat fee and fight overseas, Hearn's not going to get a better deal.
I think Deontay should just go about his business and skip the Joshua fight. There's a good chance Povetkin could win anyway. If Parker gave Joshua problems Povetkin will as well. Might be a Wilder-Povetkin unification next.Comment

The guy is trying to make it happen.
It's weird because I spent years doubting this guy and criticizing his skills, but over time, I've learned to really appreciate him. It's not all technique and being "sharp." Wilder is all heart and power and that's a very relatable quality.Comment

You know I didn't think about this before, but Wilder traveled to Russia to fight Povetkin and then was willing to travel to the UK for AJ (after fighting Ortiz).

The WBC champion also revealed he took issue with the rematch clause in the contract, which would only apply if Wilder won.
A unification showdown between three-belt world champion Joshua and Wilder has been put on hold after the Brit was ordered to fight Alexander Povetkin by the WBA.

Wilder has reacted furiously to the latest developments and accusations from the Joshua camp that claim the American never had any intention of signing the contract.
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn believes Wilder was bluffing through-out talks, but the heavyweight champion has dismissed those allegations.
‘It was simple. The two things were simple. How can you send a contract to anybody when you don’t have no date on there?’ Wilder said on ‘The Boxing Voice’ podcast.

‘Nor do you have a venue up in there. He’s sending the contract saying ‘Just sign it’. And then another thing that was up in there was talking about if I beat Joshua he gets a rematch, but if he beats me then it’s up to him to decide if there was a rematch.
‘Nah, it’s either going to [both of us having rematch clauses] or none at all. There is going to a rematch or no rematch at all. It’s crazy.
‘How you going to send a contract like that? It was simple things that they could not answer. It ain’t that they couldn’t, it’s that they wouldn’t.Comment
